Awesome City Edge Model Train Layout in HO Scale Made in Germany

Normally, you would expect that this model train layout was built in the US. But it was made in Germany. This model railroad layout, some say city edge layout, was built in HO scale. It was presented at the great Eurospoor Model Expo in Utrecht. On the layout, the electrified railway line between New York and Philadelphia is presented. The railway display is absolutely perfect and worth seeing because everywhere, for example on the streets, at the cars, at the buildings and at the locomotives, specialists and model builders have done a great job in weathering. All components have been completely weathered. And, the scenery looks almost like reality.

The realistic modeling of the junk collected under the overpass is very wonderful. I have not seen that before in a layout. Thanks for posting this video.

Just outstanding modeling, all the fine detailing & weathering is superb. The newspaper litter, under the bridge, along with everything else is just excellent work. The video camera work is perfect also. Thanks for posting as I enjoyed this layout very, very much !

One word says it all........Wundebar... This layout is awesome. Street railroading, the buildings, and even the Cadillac Ambulance now a hearse. Great automobile collection in that, and the signs (although we don't always have gun shows), but the intricate detail of the Supermarket, street paving, and that lovely lighted Amtrak sign really made this a well thought out train layout. Kudos on a job well done!

I'd love to know what the total investment cost would be of this. Probably soo much higher than I would even guess. Final result though....worth it! That AMTRAK billboard was insanely epic!

That's difficult to say, honestly .. we've been putting some two to four years work into it ... not in a row of course, but met us regularly, like once or twice per month for several hours to push the progress forward.

So the era would be?? 1970? i see a lot of early sixties vehicles but an AMC Gremlin and a late sixties GMC caught my eye, so I have to put it at 1970? The police truck at the crossing is late sixties short box. The dress is casual 1970? Lose the Gremlin and a few vans/trucks and this would actually be early sixties. Buses that design were long gone by 1970 in the west. Maybe they were still being used on the east coast USA

Dwight st. john, it's somewhere between 1976 and 1980. The era is the early years of Conrailsomwhere in a fictional place not too far away from New York. We tried as good as possible to capture the time ... I was born 1978, so I don't count as an eye witness :D But thanks to books and firend ins the US we could do some good research and got it close. If you'd say 1970, then we did a great job I'd say ;)
