Nice D-Day stripes on it. Technically, the version of the J-3 Cub that was used by the military was designated the L-4 Grasshopper. But I guess the manufacturer figured that people will recognize the name of J-3 Cub more readily than L-4 Grasshopper.

Salutations Saylors! Parkzone used to make a smaller three (3) channel J-3 Cub that had a very fragile propeller shaft, but it flew well, however, the propeller shaft would almost certainly break when you landed the plane. The solution for this problem was to swap out the gearbox with one from the Parkzone P-51 or a Champ, and then use the motor from either plane as well, this ended up adding a little extra weight in the nose, which the plane needed, but it also added extra thrust which was very helpful, especially on windier days. Unfortunately, it is difficult finding that airplane nowadays, so it is really nice that someone is making J-3 Cubs in one form or another, particularly with a brushless motor and a 2S combination too. Although the olive drab paint is appropriate, the familiar yellow is easier to see, especially against a foliage backdrop. I think Banggood has these priced at around $145 dollars right now, and it seems like a decent plane. One thing I noticed with some of these planes is that the airplane needs to be level when you turn on the transmitter, otherwise it will try to compensate and the elevator will drive the plane into the ground, to avoid this, prop up the tail of the plane so that the plane is level and the control surfaces are all straight, then turn the transmitter on, and then everything will work properly, if you just set the plane on a level surface, then when the plane thinks it is actually level, when it is not really level, and the elevator will be in the down position trying to compensate. The Flitfire is a special edition of the Piper J-3 Cub that was used to raise funds to support the British war effort in World War II. The name "Flitfire" is a play on words referring to the RAF's most well-known fighter, the Supermarine Spitfire, which was and is a symbol of British resistance during the Battle of Britain. May dad worked on this Flitfire - After the war, all the Flitfires vanished into private hands and into obscurity. Over the next 70 years many became non-airworthy. The few still flying were repainted the traditional yellow Cub color, concealing the Flitfire's history.[ As more was learned about their unique story, several were restored back to their original paint scheme.[13] In 1991 "Flitfire Wisconsin", the 22nd Cub to come off Piper's Flitfire line on 16 April 1941, was restored at Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus, Ohio. It was the first Flitfire aircraft in the United States to be restored to the original 1941 colors.

I had one of these over 6 years ago, looks exactly the same minus the gear springs, battery cover and everything (it was yellow though). I was able to fly it in 40mph gusting wind on the 2s, it did take some coming back into the wind! No stabilisation though just a speccy park flier rx

Like the color, it makes those ?bumps whatever they are stand out - kinda like rivets that are holding the plane together. Maybe use a Lego person as your pilot 😀 I got one of those neck fans, the bendable ones... cheap junk... work inside sitting down - about it! Haven't heard about one with heat though.

Problem is that the army used the L-4 cub, not the J-3. The Navy however did have a few J-3 in navy paint scheme.

When the plane is sitting on the ground, the nose is pointed slightly up and stabilization is giving down elevator to try to bring the plane back to level.

Hello, recently i bought this airplane and yesterday it was delivered, I assembled and I turned on and get familiar with the controls but seen that the vertical stabilizator was not moving so i opened the compartment and i smelled a burning smell and l screewed of that servo and it was melted😢, so can you guys make a video how to take apart the plane and change all of the servos or other components, it would help me a lot to fix my plane❤🥲

I just got one too…and no burning smell but elevator seems to not want to move hardly …rudder does just fine but plane doesn’t want to rise …I’m hoping the servo arm needed centering but if that don’t work I’m putting a spectrum turbo timber receiver in it

Same thing to me, bought two of these planes because one could be used for a donor. So first plane came, turned one for the first time, from the servo compartment i smelt a burning smell. But changed the servo from the donor, still it moved really slowly, after the first flight came back with a broken plane because the planes elevator servo didnt move at all, so i changed the broken servo with ailleron servo, now it moves better but i decided to sell it and move away from this hobby.
