As an owner myself of this very microphone, I would have to agree to say that you've done a great job at demonstrating a night-and-day difference between the audio of this Fifine K678 and that of the on-board solutions of a laptop or a smartphone.

My laptop mic stopped working so I’m looking for an affordability mic that I can use for online classes. I’m wondering how this compares to the hyperx solocast or the razer siren mini if you’ve ever tried them since they’re slightly cheaper

My computer is in a shared space, so to avoid any unnecessary feedback from people around me I have the gain knob down all the way, and I speak really close to the mic. In terms of the in-app Discord settings, it kind of depends on your situation, but I also have my audio tolerance up to about 2/3 of the slider. Hope that helps!

is there a pop sound when you mute and unmute the mic ? can it be heard in discord on the other end of peoples headphones??

No there isn't an audible pop sound - unless you really smack the microphone when you mute/unmute in which case it'll pick up the vibrations.

@@ramli1111 Yeah that's what I've done. Use the on-board gain dial to fine-tune things. Hope that helps!

It's a bit hard to tell you best settings because I have no idea what sort of environment your computer setup is in. Things like other people, bigger rooms, mic distance are all factors that make it too hard to judge. My best advice is to plug in a headphone into the microphone itself so you can hear your voice, and then dial the gain settings on mic to what you think sounds good. That way you can find a distance away from the microphone that you're comfortable with. Hope that helps!
