I had to mount cooler on back tomorrow (as you show on second method) 🥲 because there is no space for ram to insert on motherboard, i hope pc will not explode.

your comparrison in the first sound test looks to be different in many ways that alter the validity of the comparison, making it less reliable... for example: the backround hiss indicating different mic sensitivity between the 2 parts of the comparisson, where when you are testing the silent switch theres 0 to one, but when testing the yellow switch theres alot of hiss, not only that! the video, looking compressed heavily on the silent switch, while looking "krispy" on the yellow switch... i saw some comment saying it looks like you are typing lighter to on the silent keyboard, as i somewhat agree it might be a result of the video feeling compressed and having less frames, leading it to feel slower.

Sooo, i built my PC a while ago but it was my very first time ever using one of these coolers. I went with the "Thermalright AssassinX120 SE ARGB White CPU Air Cooler, AX120 SE" cooler. I never had any issues with temps or anything, but i was walking by my PC that sits on a table next to my desk and realized i had the fan blowing towards the back. I never noticed because I never had any temperature issues. It just caught my eye. Then I started wondering if it even mattered. Thats how I ended up here. I only have 2 sticks of RAM with the RGB heatsink covers on them similar to yours. Then I wondered if putting the fan on the front of the cooler would help keep the RAM cooler. But, I dont really want to change anything if it's not going to make much of a difference. Soo, I appreciate this video!! It saved me a few mins by not making me change the fan to the front, lmao. Thank you!!

So now I am am wondering if the old adage of buying matched pair is overrated. I can pick up two Kingston Fury beasts 8gb, for a third of the price of a packed pair of the same ram. And being I may have to Dremel the top of the heatsink by 2 mm to fit one of them into the first slot under the fan, it would be nice if I got the option buy a single again if I messed that up. (option B, remove one of the heat sinks (still nice to be able to buy again if I mess it up), option C, move the fan to the back of the cooler which apparently increases the noise just a little, but mostly won't look so nice.

I have the same set up problem. But it's only the first stick that in the way. So I'm wondering about the consequences of removing the heat sink from just one of 4 sticks of ram.

Hello, I am deciding between different Noctua heatsink cpu coolers. I will have my PC moved to the NZXT H6 flow, and I want to optimize air flow to Positive pressure. I will have the stock 3 fans for intake, but I want to make sure I get most of the hot air out to get cooler air as quick as possible while reducing dust collection

I find having a fan in pull config isn't desirable as it creates an annoying acoustic. I have a Deepcool AS500 plus and at full speed, the fans are only at 1200rpm but the rear fan creates that loud noise due to it trying to pull air through the heatsink. If I run the fan at max with just the front fan, I don't really hear it as much. This is why for intake fans, it's best to have a gap/space between any mesh panel and the front of the fan. If you put your hand directly in front of a spinning fan, you'll hear the difference as well.

I directed both CPU fans to the center. and directs the rear fan of the case inward. I installed 2 fans above the casing for exhaust output and 2 fans above the PSU leading to the GPU. I get cooler temperatures. and I installed 3 fans pointing inward at the front of the casing. so the heat dissipation path is only at the top of the casing

I’m really glad to see this works with the fan reverse. I had to do this unfortunately. I got my hands on some good ram for a cheap price, but they are taller and don’t allow space for my CPU fan. Love to see it’s minimal with temperature change! ❤

Hello everyone ! 🌞😉👍 Very good video ! I really L❤VE the noctua Colers 😻😻😻 For the sake of a technical experiment, I recently changed “ID Cooling IS-67-XT” to “Noctua NH-C14S” I took this cooler so that it would simultaneously cool the RAM and the motherboard's power circuits (VRM) You have a beautiful, powerful computer ! I Really like it !

Thanks for the test, but I will point out your mistakes. You need to show the fan rotation speed in the test; the final temperature and noise from the fan depend on this! Next, you connected the rear fan to the radiator without any gasket, which creates turbulence and causes more noise from the fan at the back! Included with the cooling kit, the Noctua comes with thick fan gaskets, specifically for installing it behind the radiator! You need to know this! By increasing the distance between the rear-mounted fan and the radiator, the noise from the fans is significantly less, and the system performance will be higher! Read the instructions for your cooling, which comes with the kit)

Thx for that test, I´m stunned that is nearly no dif. betwen 1 front and dual fans, only you pay less because no +1 fan to buy. After that I would be intrested how the Noctua NH-U12A is vs this Noctua in cooling.

In my experience, the pull method (after the radiator) will make the fans work harder which makes them louder. Having the fans set up to keep stall (neutral air) from building up is always a plus. No matter, if you prefer AIO/Air, proper air circulation, if you prefer AIO/Air, proper air circulation will save you a lot of money.

with cheaper fans and heat sinks, having 2 fans improves temperature a lot in my setup it was nearly 10c noctua quality is insane
@45eno
@45eno 11 ай бұрын
5:24 actual reason it was louder in pull config and push/pull config is the pull fan placement to the heatsink. That heatsink was not designed to have the pull fan that close to it. The intake side of the fan is so close to the heatsink that it makes turbulence. Some of Noctua's coolers and many other brands need a slight gap on the pull fan to avoid this added noise. Noctua even includes thicker corner fan pads in the box for the U14S and likely many other coolers I don't own. Always pay attention when you install any fan with the intake side close to something. If you hear a new noise, don't just slow your fan down, find a way to put a gap between the fan and the surface it is flush against. Crazy this is not talked about more in tech channels, pull fans are always vulnerable to weird additional noises from the fan blades simply being too close to an object.

To clarify, you mean the fan on the back side? I assume it's fine - perhaps even good, to use the slimmer pads on the regular configuration i.e. when there is a fan in the front?
@45eno
@45eno 8 күн бұрын
@@bennuwa yes the backside fan,pull fan can create noise when place too close to a surface. If you keep the fan rpm down low enough you can decrease the chance of hearing this droning noise. But then you are greatly limiting cooling performance as you likely could run your fans faster while still being quiet enough for your needs. The easiest way to test your fans is one at a time. You can buy a $10-15 fan tester that you can control the rpm while placing the fan near objects like the heatsink or case. Usually pulling a noisy suction fan out away from the object by 2-5mm is all it takes to eliminate that droning noise.
@bennuwa
@bennuwa 8 күн бұрын
@@45eno Sorry, to clarify again - if I only use one fan - the normal supplied fan, in the front ("push"?), then it's better to use the slimmer pads I take it. As far as I understand, the thicker ones are just for the rear fan in a dual setup. Just to clarify my meaning
@45eno
@45eno 8 күн бұрын
@@bennuwa Yes, when you install a fan in a push or blowing onto a surface you normally don’t need any additional gap so the standard corner pads are all you need for vibration control. The thicker pads are a good option on suction / pull fans on the backside of the heatsink. Or anytime you get a weird fan noise usually only when the intake side of the fan is up close to something.

I want to purchase the Gazzew Bobagum Silent Linear switches, but I joined the customized keyboard game too late. Most vendors are sold out, and only have the 68g switches. I would be okay with at most, 62g, to start off. After watching your review, I agree with you about the key strokes. I am going to order the 68g. Thank you!

When having two fans, if the back one is spinning a bit slower than the front it could block airflow possibly or create a hot air pocket?

Use a 2 way splitter and run both matching fans to the same fan header. Noise on the rear suction fan is from improper spacing of the suction fan to an object.

I've been using the stock lubed Glorious Pandas for a while and really enjoyed them. However I'm trying some linear right now, even though I've been a tactile/clicky guy my entire life, and actually enjoying the smoothness of Morandi. The factory lube job on the Pandas is really good, at least on the ones made in early 2023 and they are nice and thocky sounding out of the box but the price is significantly more expensive. Great review!

No, the problem is the rear fan doesn't have a proper gap. In the Noctua U14S box they include thicker rubber corner pieces for their fans to sit back a couple MM from the heatsink stopping the weird noise. Suction / Intake sides of fans always have a good chance of audible noise due to the fan blades being too close to the object. All he needed to do was use those spacers and the noise issue would have been fixed.

Nice one. I think your rear PC case fan is close enough to keep pulling the hot air coming out of the heat sink that the back fan is not really doing anything much extra? Yes, these Noctuas are built good and one fan should do it as they are pretty large enough anyways.
