Awesome Fun Off-road Lifting Wheels on Goat road and then to Wellington Dam in Western Australia. This is the toughest we have done in the South West of W.A. so far and it's EXTREME for road vehicles. Its one of those solid axle vehicles only track. Some of the ruts are as big a 4WD! Picking the correct line the entire way along Goat rd is vital.

+gullf1sk More or less the other way around man, The Wrangler is essentially the best off-the-shelf 4WD money can buy, this one isn't as heavily modified as many others, or as much as some of the other vehicles in this video. The Wranglers biggest problem IMO (and for many others also) is that even the 4 door is pretty tight on space.

What an action: It is hot and dusty from wheelwork, 3 guys go uphill, waiting for the 4th driving first up, then one goes down to drive 2nd up untill all 4 are up. Just because of this film you have a lot of additional work, which nobody sees. How about mosquitos? Bruises? Broken arms? And are these Aussie waters safe to wash and swim? Wife says "you are the hammer" (which in german means tuff). I think, you Aussies live in paradise and that's why you need sometimes some hell. Cheers from Guatemala.

Nice trip, really shows the value of suspension travel, lockers and a winch! That looked like a tough track in the dry, I imagine it would be really tough in the wet. Overhead drone shots are cool, do you use it to scout the trail ahead, too?
@Ronny_Dahl
@Ronny_Dahl 9 жыл бұрын
Guido Lyons Thanks mate, this track in the wet would not be advised and I'm pretty sure they shut the gates when its really wet. In regards to use the drone to scout, we sure do 100% especially when we are in areas less traveled as tracks disappear but from the air its easier to see the faint lines and where the track becomes visible again.

holy shit 18:36!! think it was wise for the others to take the easy track. the ones with the canopies and more weight obviously are lifting wheels where he wasn't so I can't imagine it would have been too flash in that big rut. and that jeep is still amazing me lol. also, that jeep is keeping up with the cruisers on 35's pretty easy by the looks.... imagine what those jeeps the yanks build go like!.... like the ones on 37's with long arm kits.... it must be mind boggling!
@Ronny_Dahl
@Ronny_Dahl 9 жыл бұрын
***** yeah that was one section I wanted to keep my cruiser away from. The Jeep does really well due to is weight and shorter wheel base, its Traction Control is amazing and works almost as well as lockers. However we do find the Jeep sometimes struggling in the sand as its traction control still works in the back ground and gets in the way...

Great adventure and great wisdom and lesson on make do track, Ronny! I wonder at the end of the ride, what damage your vehicles suffered? In all videos of yours, you never mention mechanical failures and this track can provide some disgusting ones. Does that mean you never had them? Got another question Ronnie please...the fat antennae... is that satellite?
@Ronny_Dahl
@Ronny_Dahl 9 жыл бұрын
We don't usually have too many troubles on the track but a few things do get slightly damaged but most are not worth mentioning however in a few upcoming videos we have some problems whit are on video. The big antenna is for HF radio, allows a range of 3000+km if conditions are good

Thanks Ronny. As you do in other subjects, if you could it would be a good idea to exemplify how to fix an emergency such a wheel bearing, water in the diesel...you know...the most frequent breakdowns in the bush that if one is alone can help one getting out of the situation without having to activate the EPERB.

@darthvader8433

I've done it in in the dry in my 4" lifted GQ Patrol wagon with no lockers, on my own. The ruts are enormous in places and you need heaps of suspension flex. Seeing nobody else has answered you I'd say no, you couldn't drive a Subi Forester down/back Goat Rd, even with 4" of lift. If you tried you'd damage it. If you didn't care about damage you'd need a good winch or friends to tow you through. Either way there are FAR easier ways to get to Wellington Dam than this!!! In the wet, forget it. The surface is partly rock and partly clay. Maybe in a twin locked comp truck with paddle tyres. Maybe.

Plug all the holes and hope for the best, you can't stop water coming in if you end up stuck in water but you can protect everything else by sealing air box etc. if you keep moving forward water should stay out unless you are driving a long water crossing
