Muddy off-road adventure, extreme fun at Harvey dam. We are joined by two 80 series landcruisers this time and some recent rain made for some challenging hill climbs and descents.
Harvey Dam is one of our favourite places for hill challenges and you will see why in this video! Even a few 4x4 recoveries took place & for once in a long time the Jeep got stuck!

Every JKU that you see on 37s is or probably was $40k-$50k at some point though. And it really doesn't matter how much it costs because we all don't make the same amount and to some people, $60k isn't all that much. I think people here just focus on looking cool instead of actual performance increases and go for crazy lifts and bumpers and aesthetics before lockers and gears.

Ronny, what do you reckon about tyre defectors? I’ve used a couple of different ones and I’ve gone back to just pushing in the valve with the key. I found those deflators seem the wear of the thread on the inside of the valve and wreck it after a while...

Hello Ronny. So how's Wayne going with his alternator at the moment? On your last trip, when you did the Holland track, did Wayne end up getting some spares near Coolgardie, as to see if spares were available there? Or did he nurse it home by swapping the battery with the other 79 series cruiser? Just curious Ron, as to see what nearby places there would be which do sell or have access to 4WD spares, such alternators, starter motors etc. Cheers Matt.

Your going down on the very slippery situation. You are using breaks in which in that situation it's not good. You are lucky coz you are going down with a lot of plain area on your side. What if it's a cliff on one side, one mistake we will not see as again. For my experience on that type of situation. I use the transmission by engaging in reverse, but you will do it very slowly to avoid of damaging your transmission. In short you go down on freewheeling. Your clutch is the one controlling the dissent and direction. You need to go down very slowly. I use this with a track loaded. There's only one problem you're clutch disks would not last so long.

Great experience hey Ronny? It seems to me sometimes you guys take the hardest way to drive on when it would be easier to take the side track and avoid any mechanical problem. Is that for show only or are you guys vehicle sadists?? The Jeep is very quite. One can hear the tyre's noise louder than the engine's.Nevertheless Debz made me laugh sliding down the hill. Holly shit! she said..I would be a little more vocal out there.:-)). Good job Ronny!
@Ronny_Dahl
@Ronny_Dahl 9 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, I took the hard line at the start due to poor placement of the camera man so I ended up in the sloppy stuff. BUT yes we sometimes (half the time) take the harder lines for fun and yes video. If we are in remote areas we take more easy lines. That said this particular didn't have a chicken track for most of the tracks. That last hill was scary to say the least but after the others saw me go down they still wanted to give it a go! That jeep Is very quite unless it's rpm is over 3000.

@Ronny_Dahl
@Ronny_Dahl 9 жыл бұрын
***** with 32's and no towing I'd wait with the chip/exhaust and go for the lift, you can always get the chip/exhaust later down the track with your next set of tyres (perhaps 33's as they fit nicely from stock height). All comes down to what tracks you want to do or more like what 4WDing you want to do.
