I've got one of those post pulling adapter plates and the number of times you can't use it for one reason or another - I've found just a heavy chain wrapped twice around (with the 2nd wrap going under the first - very important) to be faster, and superior, and universal - (beefy posts, standard, T-posts) and regardless of damage - That's on the the front end loader. For the mobile post puller, just the wide mouth (for want of the correct name) plate is superior too; for one thing it doesn't have to come down from the top - you can just attach it on the side at any height. I will put the caveat that your (Tim) plate has a slight variation in the cut out which probably helps. I have two of them and they're both equally useless (not quite useless, but you know what I mean).

I straighten them by hand, by levering them between the towbar and the underslung spare wheel of my Hilux. I have re-used 1000's of steel posts this way. BHP waratahs are definitely much harder to straighten. That's real steel. 😉

I wonder if you added a little forge on the ute you could heat the post to red and give it a few whacks with the hammer to help save the pinched ones ? Although it might not be economically feasible, you couldn't charge $2.50 only for them.

They would still do their job as intended.Fences are'nt meant to contain bulldozers. And yes, the older BHP material is better quality than newer types even following straightening. This hydraulic machine does not cause the stress of people bashing the shit out of them.
