You accelerate with a finger and with the pedal. Is it happening faster like this?

because the bike was broken from shipping we think. Throttle would only work at half. So had to be gentle to make it work, so used pedal and throttle together. Only needed pedal or throttle in normal operation though. Throttle being replaced under warranty. Just unlucky first bike at the shop I believe.
