Good idea for someone who doesn't know that bar clamps exist! Just use wing nuts so that you don't need a wrench to adjust it for longer work.

I have a piece of that angle iron in my store room same length an two of those clamps i will be making one in the coming week just need to go the store to the bolts an good bit useing my heavy duty hand drill. Thank for sharing.

That's a great alternate use of a broken C-Clamp, the L-Bar you use there will twist when clamping large objects, using a T-Bar instead will give you more clamping force and stability. Great constructive innovation, Enjoyed the whole video. . Greetings from Meghalaya.

Interesting way to re-purpose a C-Clamp. I know it's cheaper probably to buy a Bar clamp... but adding the Base to support a project not too bad. In a Pinch..with some extra materials.. it's nice to know. Thanks

Pipe clamps are cheap enough, have more adjustment capability, and are safer. So...this is definitely a hack job and pointless.

Pipe clamps not obtainable in South Africa. Broken g clamps are, however, especially in a large set construction crew. Great hack, thank you.

My son,..... Genconex, what troubles your delicate hands, and / or mind ? You could just as well omit the trip & $ for a pipe clamp as well. Call a tradesman and pay him to take care of it all. That way you won't get any callouses , nor strain your neuron.

Use T shape angle iron to become more stable with surface.or use 3 inch angle iron piece weld behind the facing.

Darn, I was hoping to see him try to weld cast iron to mild steel...😂😂😂 I would suggest using a precision tool like a SQUARE to line the movable jaw up square with the angle stock. I personally use Pony clamps I found at the flea market for $5.00 each, but some people live in places where one has to make do with the materials at hand. Lining the holes up and spacing them exactly 2 inches apart will give this project more adjustment points. Would I make and use this...no. I live where good tools are plentiful both new and used, and I can afford to buy good quality tools.
