I was wondering what kind of fixtures these were when I went to Level 257 in Woodfield Mall in Woodfield IL. It had blue buttons so I thought this was a new Thyssenkrupp MRL elevator but it was an Otis series 7 finding a video of it on KZbin by searching this up. Otis Series 7 Hydraulic elevator at Level 257.

+Geoffrey These aren't Gen2's.

Yeah. Gen2s are a solution for mid/low rise buildings. Some I have seen were used for cheap high rise buildings which can not afford proper high rise elevators. In England, some Gen2s are cheap and branded as Express Evans, a brand with two merged elevator companies, Express and Evans. They did not make any cheap elevators back when the companies existed. Express no longer exists and they now make cheap generics. Evans no longer exists, and they don't make any elevators now. But their name is still used to brand cheap Gen2s. But you can still find some nice old Express elevators and Evans as well.

It's also interesting that only the 23rd floor is locked off, because the one in Austin with 34 floors is locked off except for the parking levels. I wonder why they couldn't just lock off the highest floor, or the executive suites, or have the floor open in the day, locked off at night.
