I liked the Chinoise aesthetic it had going on originally. IMO, it would've been best to have restored it, though improving upon the original design. Perhaps a pair of gorgeous Great White Egrets in water with a backdrop of the snowcapped Chinese mountains, using gold leaf and muted, greyed down mauve-pinks to create a partially patterned background, interwoven with the pastoral scene, adding (hiring someone to paint a few well placed) Chinese hand painted characters for an extra element of interest. Of course, all of this, ONLY after having restored the black background with the design element of the thin golden circle. Still, what you created was indeed modern and compelling. So, I certainly applaud you. Well done. Brava!!
