Joachim Witt has been a long time alternative singer in Germany. Tilo Wolff is the singer of Goth Rock band Lacrimosa.

Its if you will a generational goth project, from the beginning with people like Witt, to the “youngsters“ like Harms. They cover 4 Generations of Goth Music if you will.

Good morning, I am sorry that I am late to the party. I myself have just come across this band and this song has been stuck in my head now, in a good way. I like the way all the singers change, and the video is done very well. I am glad you enjoyed, thanks for sharing, have a good day.

Great to see someone reacting to this. Guess you could say it's an introduction to each of those 4 singers and their respective bands. (I must admit I'm mostly in it for Chris Harms tho. :)) Keep up the good work man!

Great reaction :) It was pretty upbeat for the theme, but each of their voices sounded really good. I'd love to see you react to some Scardust, they released a new song last week called Stranger and it gives me chills every time I listen to it

You should listen to Tilo Wolff in German when he's singing with his own band, Lacrimosa. He has such an emotional and incredible voice but it loses something when he sings in English. Stolzes hertz is a good song to pick for a first song.

I couldn't find a background to the song, but due to the line "in a land of seals and sorrow, we kept waiting for the spark" I think this refers to the German Democratic Rebublic that had a huge gothic community that was supressed and only got their music by illegally recording it from western radio close to the border and then copying and distributing it in secrecy through the country. After Germany reunited western german gothic bands that only played for a few dozen people here now had concerts with a thousand people or more in the former eastern Germany. Thus "the spark" being the release into a free society.

Ok here goes. You guys are far too young to know the group Japan. They started way back in the late 70's with David Silvian lead singer and probs one of the best bass players ever Mick Karn. Anyway I'm reaching out cause no-one ever never talks about or plays their music anywhere. Btw we all have our own taste in music.
