Shiny shiny. What great piece of kit. I take it that will help with friction loss through oil

Shiny! Lovely finish, there's obviously no risk of multiple components being in the same tank and marking each other during the process, I was wondering if you had a crankshaft would you put that in a tank on it's own but you've proven that that's not a problem.
@graceenginedevelopments19 сағат бұрын
Thanks Larry, I was worried about it myself, we tested quite a few bits with no problem, the manufacturer of the machine said it would be fine, I'm making something as a safety precaution as will

I've a Pinto crank that you can throw in there to see how it can get rid of some surface rust. I just need to get over to you :)

Bring it down let's have a look at it.

Shiny! A polished finish does improve fatigue life of forged components so there should be a durabiity benefit.
@graceenginedevelopments11 сағат бұрын
Thanks John, yes I think you're right there
@gothicpagan.6669 сағат бұрын
That process has been well developed. One of those machines you can let it keep going overnight. Finished product results in less friction, measurable power increase at the wheels and parts seem to last longer.

Looks brilliant. Does that shiny finish help prevent component wear? Do you need to think about clearance tolerencesm(crank journals?) or is the amount of material removed negligible?
@graceenginedevelopments19 сағат бұрын
Thanks Chris, yes the surface finish is awesome, I measured before and after and nothing was seen
@Edwardsmotorsport1Күн бұрын
Awesome! What are the benefits of this in terms having gears done ect? Those internals look to be a 60g Quaife, I’d be interested in it myself, could I get a cost to have the gears done from the box and a CWP set Cheers Lee
@graceenginedevelopments19 сағат бұрын
Hi Lee, thank you. It can massively help the components, it reduces the surface finish (Ra)of the material, it will help with heat, drag, oil contamination hopefully improving power output and the smoothness of gear changes. Send it over and we will get that sorted for you
@benfrancis4628Күн бұрын
Shiny! Do you reckon masking could survive in there to protect coated sections?
@graceenginedevelopmentsКүн бұрын
Thanks mate, not sure if have to try
@roygardiner2229Күн бұрын
Shiny. Is this done purely for cosmetic reasons?
@graceenginedevelopments19 сағат бұрын
Thanks Roy, no it improves the surface finish also, but it does look good.. what do you think to it
@roygardiner222913 сағат бұрын
@@graceenginedevelopments Well, let me say straight away I don't even own a car so am a complete novice. But I AM a systems engineer and so tend to ask a lot of questions. So, I do think the components are good looking but if there is no improvement in the way they work I would not bother doing it. However I see in your other replies that you think friction and oil contamination will be reduced so maybe it does have functional advantages. It's just my feeling and not a criticism.
@graceenginedevelopments13 сағат бұрын
It brings the Ra of the surface down, also would help with temperature and drag.
@dirtyspanners21 сағат бұрын
lovely and shiny .does the finish make it cut through the oil better and less contamination in the oil
