Cool footage of a super light GW take-off. Compared to how the Trent 800 usually growls on take-off, with such a massive derate, it was almost non-existent here.

This is amazing, i thought these triple 7's only do international flights?
@NDSAviation19 ай бұрын
This particular flight was some time back, but airlines still do fly widebodies on domestic flights! Usually look for flights between an airline’s hubs. For example, delta frequently operates A350s on the ATL-LAX routes and 767s on their JFK-LAX routes; United operates 777s and 787s on flights involving Newark (EWR), SFO, LAX, Dulles (IAD), and O’Hare, although strangely I’ve seen Orlando-O’Hare on a 777. American may operate 777s and 787s between DFW, MIA, and JFK, although they’re a bit more variable

@@NDSAviation1Just to add to your list at the end there......I've also seen the American 777 fly from JFK to Phoenix Sky Harbor also.(thanks to the assistance of looking on Flight Radar 24).😃

What is that metal noise in the engine?

I’m a little confused by this - the engine is made of metal, so that’s just kind of what it sounds like…

I thought that the Boeing 777 used the GE90 engines exclusively...
@NDSAviation18 ай бұрын
On the 777-200LR/F and 777-300ER, it’s exclusively GE90. On the 777-200/200ER versions, there’s an option for GE90, PW4000, or Trent 800.

Is this plane alright? Doesnt sound right.
@NDSAviation19 ай бұрын
Not sure what you’re referring to. It may sound different than other Trent 800 videos because it was a very de-rated takeoff and climb thrust setting, likely from the light load that day. It’s totally normal though.
@jaycris19809 ай бұрын
@@NDSAviation1that buzzing sound. To me, thats a sign of struggle. Is that so?
@NDSAviation19 ай бұрын
@@jaycris1980buzzing sound? Like during takeoff and climb? That’s very normal - that’s what jet engines sound like. Jet engines buzz because parts of the engine like the fan blades move faster than the speed of sound. It’s called the buzzsaw effect. It’s literally the sound of little sonic booms at these supersonic parts of the engine. You hear it more if you’re sitting in front of the engine; if you’re sitting behind the engine, the sound gets overpowered by the sound of the engine exhaust. You can hear what this engine sounds like when using a higher takeoff thrust setting: kzbin.info7FiSZ-j0bd0?feature=share Engine buzzsaws can sound different from engine to engine. This is what it sounds like on a GE90. It’s coarser and lower pitched than on the Trent 800: kzbin.infohdMoWZnhGPw?feature=share

Without fail, a comment like this comes up, despite the fact that I place time stamps in every video to aid in navigation. I simply don’t understand why so many people don’t see the time stamps when KZbin automatically puts breaks in the video player according to the time stamps.

@NDSAviation13 ай бұрын
First, this was recorded with an iPhone. Second, if you’d care to elaborate on the audio, please do, because to my ear, the audio meets the standard of all my other videos and of most aviation videos on the internet. I’m open to all feedback on my videos but isolated criticisms like this are of limited utility to me as they not specific enough for me to target any area for improvement.

Yeah - although, I actually live about 2 blocks from the end of the runway at a major Southwest Airlines hub. It can be annoying like if you’ve woken up early to use the bathroom and you’re trying to fall back asleep, but for the most part, you kind of get used to it. I hardly notice the noise anymore

This might be the P&W because RR growls
@NDSAviation19 ай бұрын
This is a Trent 800. American Airlines 777-200s only use Trent 800s. You can also tell because of the spiral in the spinner of the fan blades (PW uses a straight line, better known as the apostrophe design), and the straight engine pylon (PW has a more curved pylon).
