Noal Farm

Күн бұрын

Tamarind is a type of tropical fruit. It's used in many dishes around the world, and may even have medicinal properties.
It's native to Africa but also grows in India, Pakistan and many other tropical regions. The tree produces bean-like pods filled with seeds surrounded by a fibrous pulp. The pulp of the young fruit is green and sour. As it ripens, the juicy pulp becomes paste-like and more sweet-sour.
Interestingly, tamarind is sometimes referred to as the "date of India."

Very necessary and commonly used ingredient in Indian cooking. In south India, I have seen major roads lined with these trees as they give shade and also livelihoods to people living near the roads money in the form of this fruit. Goats love these leaves.

Imran md it can be just eaten raw as it is but it not that easy to eat for everyone coz it’s sour but the ripe one can be take off the skin/cover whatever, then soak in a water over night in a room temperature or in the refrigerator, once you take out mix well with spoon as it become softened then take out the seeds or the rough staff, then if it is sour one you can put some salt or little sugar, without putting anything is best put some salt make a better taste, then drink one glass at a time, empty stomach work better after food also can be drink , anytime whenever a person feels like too🤩 that’s all I know, hope it will work for you guys too, good luck👍🏼 and one thing the sour taste work better coz very sweet one is also there after ripe

I'm from Turkey and we have a special drink made from tamarind: demirhindi şerbeti (tamarind sherbet). Demirhindi is a funny example of folk etymology. In Turkish, "demir" means "iron" and "hindi" means the bird "turkey." People Turkicized the word tamarind with that practical solution, but the end result is hilarious. The compound word "demirhindi" ("ironturkey" in English) cannot be farther than the actual thing it describes. It's like the English word "sparrow grass" (another hilarious example of folk etymology) for "asparagus" :-)))
