Hey Jeff thanks for the commentary im watching this now while eating and its a blast ! Some comments I wanted to make are if u see me throw potions / xspeeds "away" its usually me playing around red card so I don't lose cards. Haha also I think Red card is one of the best cards in the game which is why its in both my decks. I almost always red card blind if it can "discard" a card from the enemy hand.
@bryanroth724811 күн бұрын
Raven played that stellar. I'm also so glad to see weezing arbok take a huge W. My favorite 2 cards in the game

This is a great video. Anyone who thinks battles in Pokemon Pocket are too simplistic should watch this video. There are a lot of interesting card designs in the first set and I can't wait for more cards to be released. Pocket TCG could have a really bright future ahead.

Already watched the whole vod over the course of the day, but wanted to leave a comment saying i rly enjoyed the casting aswell as your thought prozesses during your matches. Very satisfing good plays payed of in the finals. Would love more casting or turnament footage. Also maybe worth looking to cast vods of interesting turnament matches, but live cast is probably working better for live content.

Jeff I don't ever comment on videos but I had to say you're the only reason I tried Pokemon Pocket, and I somewhat enjoy it, not as much as Marvel Snap but it is a great casual game. Wish you good luck with this channel as well, I was following your Snap channel since the very beginning. Awesome content as always, keep it up.

Basically the analysis on red card is that most decks aren't playing both potion and gio, which are both better in most situations. The only time red card is better is if you're playing mew (which you aren't) or hand scope, however if you are 1-1 on the red scope combo you are better off playing pokedex since that's a more consistent 2 card combo, so you're only playing red card if you are trying to STUFF your deck with trainer cards
@alexanderfisher726110 күн бұрын
It is worth pointing out that in open decklist including a red card does pressure your opponent to play out cards that they otherwise would hold. There is upside to that pressure on your opponent in games that you don't play the red card. There were moments players had to play out cards they otherwise wouldn't to play around red card to at least a potential determent.

Al first i wasn't very sure about how complex can be the tournament scene in this game, but how mistaken i was, those were a very intense matches. In the end the best lesson i could learn is that the mind games play a very big role in how a game flows

hey Jeff. what you think about the battle system? for me its quite fun, but its SOO unrewarding. i dont know how long a game like this can survive unless there are mechanisms like in marvel snap.
@HooglandiaPocket11 күн бұрын
I think not having predatory hamster wheels like a ladder makes the game more fun. If the game isn't rewarding for playing on its own, play something else.

Thoughts on Sandslash/Machamp Ex position in the current meta? Seeing a lot of success against the big decks with it

It is very good when you curve out into Machamp on curve. Kind of clunky when you don't.

Only reason I can imagine yomez(idkifthatshowuspellit) using potion preemptively is ladder discipline from players red carding his potions away

Can anyone explain the benefit of going first? It seems like going second is always more advantageous
@HooglandiaPocket11 күн бұрын
Going first is beneficial to stage one Pokemon with 1 energy attacks such as Weezing or Stage 2 Pokemon with 2 energy attacks such as Greninja. The popular decks right now all prefer to go second though yes for the energy advantage.
@Briggetchu2511 күн бұрын

Hey uhhhh you can't make a poisoned pokemon fall asleep can you? Didn't the Wigglytuff deck lose as soon as they hit the Poison Gas on the second Venusaur?
@HooglandiaPocket12 күн бұрын
This is incorrect. Those conditions stack.
@luc44812 күн бұрын
@HooglandiaPocket I stand corrected. I was certain they couldn't and went and tested it myself-- you are correct. To anyone else who sees my comment: the only statuses that cannot coexist are Sleep, Confused, and Paralyzed. In the mainline TCG, these affects rotate the card instead of getting a marker. So that's why they can't stack. Whereas you can rotate a card with a poison token on it. Thanks for the intel.

Gosh misty is such a terribly designed card. It should just work like moltres and be flip 3 coins, why do this all or nothing things that completely desides the games she is in. it basically just makes non-games for each game she is involved in.
@HooglandiaPocket11 күн бұрын
This design makes misty significantly more powerful and consistent.
