Cowboys from he'll the title track is cool. If you get messages from posers telling you to react to the pantera albums before cowboys from he'll. That's not the true pantera, that's albums made when they where kids at Pentagon studios for free because their father was a country music musician and artist. Those albums where written before Phil anselmo became the singer. They came out with projects in the jungle without Phil, when they where 12 and 14, power metal is when Phil first joined and there are three albums they made back in 1983 to 1987 when they where into van Halen, kiss, black Sabbath, iron maiden. That's what was cool back then. Then they started to develop their own sound. They fired their original singer. Hired Phil anselmo and started to play heavier because they got into slayer, metallicas, anthrax and a lot of hardcore like black flag, agnostic front. They found their own sound. No pantera before cowboys from hell is worth listening to. They where kids. Cowboys from he'll is their first professional album, then vulgar display of power, far beyond driven, the great southern trenkill , reinventing the steel and pantera official live 101 proof. Those are the mature pantera anything before that is them practicing and sounds like iron maiden. Only posers(fake metalheads) will recommend little albums they made at 14. Projects in the jungle, power metal and one other I can't remember are them as kids without a record label back in 1983 before they invented their own sound. Pantera in interviews even said that was all practice. And we where playing like iron maiden and stuff learning our instruments. No real pantera fans listen to those albums.
