I'm trying to save room on my pedal board and as someone that wants a volume pedal and a wah pedal but never uses them at the same time lol this seems like the perfect invention for me I just ordered one for $85 plus tax I can't wait to try it out thanks for the demo. I don't have a ton of experience with Hotone but I did buy their little tiny bit crusher pedal a year ago and the build quality is great and it sounds great and was very inexpensive Definitely have no problem giving them another shot with this Wah pedal

This is the first pedal I've seen from Hotone, didn't even realize they made pedals! I've been using one of their "tiny little amps" for about 6 months and like it a lot. Only 5 watts, but it's LOUD playing through a 2X12 cab that I built with 12 inch Celestion 50 watt speakers! I got their "Purple Wind" model Marshall clone amp for Christmas.
@GuitarMAXMusic3 жыл бұрын
Richard, how do you think the sound of the amp you have compares to the classic Marshall sound?
@ferdberfle50693 жыл бұрын
@@GuitarMAXMusic I have never played through a real live Marshall, but it compares favorably to what I've heard on vinyl. The company claims that it emulates a 60's era plexi. I have the older version of this amp that was selling for around $75 before Christmas. The newer version runs about $95 and has built in cab sim. All these "tiny little amps" also have effects loops!

Ive had the BRitwind dual amp pedal for a couple years - its just amaazing - up to 75watt - Plexi / Vox AC30 amp replicator - with reverb and boost - all in a tiny pedal. Has fx loop outs tocab/line/XLR desk with cab sim and grnd lift. Also the Hotone Ampero Silver Edition is stunning. I also run 12 of their older nano pedals from tuner to DigDel, OD Dist Compressor Boost Chorus Harmonizer Grphic EQ - each is tiny, solid metal, sounds great has extensive controls and take so little power they can all be run off a 9v supply - I run 12 off one pwr supply.

I have a Hotone Skyline Analog Phaser pedal on my pedalboard. It's one of those dinky pedals the size of a pill bottle, but it feels like it's made of of cast steel. I'd recommend it, but unless you're planning on taking up a second life as a shoegaze/goth/vintage prog guitarist, then it's probably not up your alley. Still, it is bright purple and the big knob on it lights up when it's engaged, so there's that.

Thanks for the review! (I know it's been 3 years). I have a hotone skyline mini tuner (excellent), used to own a hotone skyline wally looper (excellent), and I currently also use the hotone vow press (excellent vol/wah combination). Now the reason for this pedal being of interest to me is its expression out and how I could control my Strymon Flint or DIG with it. However I cannot find anywhere if you need the pedal to be connected to 9v in order for the expression out to work. Obviously the active volume and wah requires the pedal to be 'powered', but what about its expression function, does it require 9v power as well or can it be used passively? cheers!

...so if you hook it up to a Hotone effect designed for it it will control the amount of fuzz, overdrive, distortion, etc or the various parameters of a Flanger, Chorus, or delay. The pedal looks like its got just about all the key features I'm interested in, and the size looks perfect. I hope you can answer these few questions: 1. How smooth is the volume ramp up going from silent to the volume starting to engage? 2. When the pedal is "Off" are all the status lights off? I don't like discovering the Wah is on in the background. 3. Does the sweep control work on both the Volume, and Wah modes? 4. Will the Volume and Expression work without a battery or DC power, as if it were a "Passive" pedal? 5. I noticed on Amazon that "9V Battery Power Supply (Not Incl)" I've got an Original Cry Baby (no status light), and Ernie Ball Volume, both of which are big, and take up too much space. The Hotone looks like a good replacement for them. I also have an HX Stomp that accepts a Expression Pedal input that I could use to control any number of parameters - a big win. Some time ago, I saw a bunch of videos for their Effects pedals. If I remember right, there was some inconsistencies in the pedal tones and some QC issues. The "Hotone Soul Press II" looks like a significant improvement in build quality, and really looks excellent. I hope they've stepped up their game and delivered a sturdy pedal that will last in this one. Thanks

The only improvement they could make to this pedal is if the foot switch did a three-way selection between v/w/off. This way you would have quick access to both modes, and the passive expression with the pedal off.
