I’ve never NOT been grabbed and automatically one shot by the Reaper when I’ve been outside of a vehicle, in comparison I have never died to a Ghost Leviathan and unlike the reaper I didn’t feel the discomfort of “it's going to eat me”.

The "Titan Holefish" in Subnautica Below Zero is based off of the "Ocean Sunfish" (Mola mola) and other species of Molidae as well. Fun fact(s): the Dunkleosteus was not only the Apex predator of the entire ocean during its era, it had no teeth. Instead, it used its double-layered skull, giving it that well-known boney appearance, as its actual jaws. Those two front sharp parts at the front of their mouth are just part of its upper skull, and is what they used to bite down on their prey. Even this was powerful enough to crush through their armor 10X over. Occasionally, when the Dunkleosteus wasn’t chewing on its own or megaladon meat, it was crunching on stone boulders, kind of like a person chewing on a jolly rancher today. Known to be not only strong and burly, but also to be extremely stealthy. They did not have to keep moving to breathe, and could stay in one spot for hours if need be. This came in handy when hunting for prey. They’d hide in the shadows, and once they caught something in their sight, they’d practically become The Flash of the underwater, and bite straight down. Sometimes, they’d even wait for one of their own kind to attack prey first, so they could take an even bigger bite out of their brother. How did they rip that juicy flesh off though? Simple, the twisted their body around while holding on to their meal.

@@Ronnie10011 a whale is dwarfed by the leviathans in the game. The largest blue whale recorded was 29.9 meters long (98ft) and the reaper leviathan is 55 meters (180ft). Thats already practically double the size. The sea dragon is double that, at 112 meters (367ft). And even then the sea emperor dwarfs that with the official length being "160-200 meters" ( 525-656ft) A blue whale is a fucking snack for a dragon, and a good meal for a reaper. Not even close. The adult ghost is 110 meters also, so same situation as the dragon. For a good size reference Mount Everest is 29000 feet, meaning 44 sea emperors stacked facing up is the same height as mount everest. Once again no creature on earth even somewhat compares to the enormity of the creatures in subnautica. A boneshark is about a fifth of a reaper, so about 11 meters (36ft) And a great white is about 4m The enormity cannot even be compared. Nothing on earth besides literally the geology of the planet itself compares

I wish I could go back to 15 minutes ago when I didn't know these existed. 1. Ghost Leviathans are the 3rd largest leviathan (2nd being the Sea Dragons and 1st, The Emperors) 2. Humanity has not explored the deeper parts of the oceans so it's entirely possible subnautica creatures exist 3. This makes me regret getting subnautica, and makes me happy I used godmode (out of fear)

Boomerangs are definitely based on Angelfish, Lava Lizards bear some resemblance to Mosasaurs and other prehistoric marine reptiles, Crashfish may be based on Clownfish with the traits of having a symbiotic relationship with the Sulfur plants and the Crashfish itself compared to how Sea Anemones defend Clownfish from predators in exchange that Clownfish protect the anemone from parasites and other nasty stuff, except this time the roles are reversed.

@derekdrake87063 жыл бұрын
The Reaper is a masterpiece of horror for three reasons: 1. Amazing sound design. It warns you to stay away, you know when one is near. The roar is infamous. 2. Unlike most creatures in Subnautica, the Reaper is an actual deadly threat. 3. The most overlooked reason: It immediately puts you off foot with it's human-ish angry facial features, just like the Alien from Alien.
