Hey Awesome Ones, today I have 5 Do's & Don'ts Outfits to show you how to turn a dowdy, older looking outfit into a newer youthful one that could make you appear years younger. Many times we get into a fashion rut and keep wearing styles that age us. Great tips as usual. I actually loved the colorful tunic and white jeans. I watched another youtuber who said tunic tops are outdated. But, I love the way they look on me (and on you). The dark denim Jean jacket looks great on you. You do a wonderful job modeling the outfits. I guess once you've been a model it never leaves you😊👍

Fantastic video! Loved the outfits! Often, it is also just about fixing the general proportions. One thing though that I do find vey aging are bangles and plastic jewellery: better wearing no jewellery at all or gold-silver-pearls good quality jewellery. Or else plastic and fake silver cheapen the outfit and always look outdated. For a pop of colour, add a colourful short or long scarf instead!

Excellent advice. Brave lady to show what doesn’t work. Inspirational to remind us that what worked in the past needs to be tweaked a little. Ie white blouse. Foot wear is the hardest part of dressing because it’s the most important thing we wear for balance but often looks chunky and frumpy. Looks like that too can be upgraded. Thanks!

If I am wearing all black or all navy (for example, while I am travelling) I find that wearing a colorful scarf makes all the difference and gives life to my face.

You have such a good sense of style. I'm lucky my youngest daughter (age 28) is good at that. I was telling her awhile back that the older I get (66) the less I like tight clothing, especially pants. She said I am transitioning. What she meant was that I am starting to go more towards old lady clothing. But really it's just wanting looser clothing but not baggy. Comfortable clothing. I do like layers but try to avoid boxy styles. I do hide behind my clothing to a certain extent though I'm not overweight. My body just doesn't look like it did, of course. I went thru my closet again to get rid of some things. I remember years ago when I was in my mid-forties. My sister & I were walking around an outdoor mall past a shop that is common in malls--clothing geared towards older women. Everything there is large and boxy. She said that's "our" store. I didn't answer back because I think she was trying to point out that I needed to dress more my age like she did. But I was only 46 or so. By the way, don't get rid of the old jean jacket. I love it! You could wear that with other clothing items more flattering and it would still look good.

Thanks for your input Elizabeth. When I was in my 40s I dressed much more old-fashioned than I do now. Now I'm aging with attitude and feeling more youthful and trendy. it's a great feeling!

You’re so right about the flip flops but here on the coast of Cali, styles are much less trendy and more relaxed…and flip flops (even fancy leather) are worn with everything. I loved your face in the last don’t outfit. And I loved all the do outfits. I’m going to buy myself a long t shirt dress. But I need a sleeve. But I’m getting to the point that I don’t care what my arms look like. I’m wearing a little shorter sleeves. But I don’t feel comfortable going sleeveless. I am ordering dresses to wear this summer. I even ordered some sleeveless ones. But I will wear something over those. Or a t shirt under them. I really want to try the Skechers you have. But I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot. So I need support. Those are cute. But I’m not sure there’s enough support for me. I have tried memory foam slippers. And I didn’t like them. So I’m afraid to buy the ones you have.
