Hi James! 30:05 - The reason Vinny could sleep in prison during a riot, is because THAT is the type of noise he was used to sleeping with. Being from New York, it was the "sounds of the country life" that bothered him the most. He wasn't used to those kinds of sounds. While the prison riot was "just like home" to him. 31:23 - Heh. The judge overruled the objection, because it was obvious that Vinny knew something was coming, because of the "well thought out" objection. Hilarious, isn't it? The chemistry between Pesci and Tomei (pronounced Toe-May) is off the charts in this movie. They had such a great dynamic. You can tell that they both have that "New Yawkah" accent perfectly. Also, Fred Gwynn is most notable for playing Herman Munster in the TV series "The Munsters" back in the 1960s. The show was very popular with both adults and children back in the 1970s, as well.

Fred Gwynne, the actor playing the judge was famous for his role in the 60's comedy "The Munsters", before this, he starred in another sitcom "Car 54 Where are you?" starring two bungling NY police officers. One of his "Car 54" costars, Al Lewis joined the "Munsters" cast as vampire Grandpa Munster. He also starred in feature films "Cotton Club", and Stephen King's "Pet Semetary", he was also an accomplished artist and had several gallery openings. The problem was, fans were always attending his premieres wanted to hear him do his Hermann Munster character with the infamous bellowing laugh. This annoyed him because he was a serious artist and it was difficult to shed the character.

Marisa Tomei (toe-MAY) won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Mona Lisa Vito. There were rumors that it was a mistake, that the award was supposed to have gone to someone else. As we now know, when they accidentally give the award to the wrong party, they correct it immediately (this happened in 2017 when they accidentally gave the Best Picture award to La La Land instead of Moonlight). Tomei really was great in My Cousin Vinny, and it was one of the few times a major award went to a comedic performance. Most actors will tell you that comedy is harder than drama, but it rarely gets recognition in the big award categories. Tomei has turned in other really good performances in The Perez Family, In the Bedroom, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, The Wrestler, The Lincoln Lawyer, and The Big Short. She was also Peter Parker's Aunt May in several Marvel movies.

I completely agree with you on the best character of this movie, but I just think the chemistry of these two completely ran the movie. They were so good together

This movie and *12 Angry Men* (1954) are used as examples in law schools. One for trial function and one for jury function. 12 Angry Men is also used as an example of excellent film making in film schools.

The original "12 Angry Men" is one of the best movies ever made, IMO.

First the Matrix, and now this. These were two movies my father and I used to watch whenever they were on. Your fresh perspective makes them new again. Try Monty Python's Holy Grail next. XD

That actor who was the automotive expert, James Rebhorn, was also Mr. Trask, the school headmaster, in "Scent of a Woman". He was also the district attorney during the trial in the "Seinfeld" finale.

Never seen this movie, but when that owl got spooked, then turned it's head like: What the heck!😳 Scoots to the side a bit.😆 And it's cute.🤗 It sounds like a pterodactyl. I thought they just hoot.

Great reaction! 😊 This is one of my favorite go-to feel good comedy movies. I was wondering if you were going to remember Ralph Macchio from "The Karate Kid". 👍 This is one of my favorite movies of his. This is also one of my favorite Joe Pesci movies. I very highly recommend the 1994 movie "Only You". Marisa Tomei is great in that movie. Looking forward to your next reaction, and your "A Few Good Men" reaction on Friday. 😊
