I love how the red one is seamlessly more androgynous than feminine. And the white one is just an ice queen.

The ice queen one kinda reminded me of the elf protagonist of the dark crystal movie :) Both look like dolls tbh. But truly gorgeous. Must take a lot of self esteem and talent to dress up like this

@TheFruitSquad
@TheFruitSquad 4 жыл бұрын
luis martinez355 sometimes it comes down the the individual as to what they want to be identified as. For Drag Queens typically their persona is feminine hence the female pronouns when referring to that persona. Some individuals are fluid and don’t mind male or female pronouns. At the end of the day It’s all dependent on an individual and what they prefer.

Their respectfulness is ever so slightly backhanded though, in a very elegant way. I felt like that's how they deal with sarcasm (which is one of the weapons of the language of a western drag queen) not having a cultural presence in Korea. I dig it. Actually Japanese doesn't have sarcasm (they don't use it and don't understand it. sarcasm is a western construct). I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say Korean doesn't either.

@salmamahameed2160
@salmamahameed2160 4 жыл бұрын
Pinree Again I’m not defending Arabs, because I know they can be wrong and not accepting sometimes. However I’m just implying that you shouldn’t judge a whole community and every single person living in that community based on how the majority behaves there. As you said before “learn how to accept your own kind of beautiful” that applies to judging each individual for their own deeds too, not based on the community they live in. Because they didn’t choose to be that way.

@joeyp1927
@joeyp1927 4 жыл бұрын
@@breeze1637 Some cultures are more respectful than others, however. And bowing is particularly significant because you lower your head rather than holding it up high, demonstrating humility specifically. Psychologists have pointed out that physical gestures are not simply reflections of inner mental states or feelings, but actually induce those feelings as well. Lowering your head below another person's makes you feel humble - it is a basic behavior. And a culture that makes this a habit prioritizes humility and respect.

Yeah and they're skinnier/have smaller frame than a lot of the western queens, which makes them a bit more feminine (smaller, v shaped face, small shoulders, etc). I don't think you've gone to enough drag shows, followed enough IG drag accounts or watched enough Drag Race or you wouldn't make such a generalization. Plus drag is transformative there is no one "correct" way to do drag such that the standard is "conventional beauty" or feminine beauty. I'm sure even in Korea there are many drag esthetics that don't necessarily conform to the "pretty" or what queens would call fishy look.

@@lollypokemon I think you missed my entire point which was what is your point of reference for this opinion? Even the japanese styles of makeup which are not drag you just mentioned only represent a certain aesthetic within that culture. I'm simply saying maybe learn a bit more about drag globally before stating an entire nation of a performance art is clownish? There are artists out there who would find that incredibly insulting and others that would say yes that's exactly what I'm going for! I just don't think generalizations such as these are helpful though of course everyone is entitled to their own opinions *shrugs*

@@aayushs.taehyung4631 That's definitely not a rule. Most drag queens do not care what pronouns are used to address them, in or out of drag.
