That starter motor is in a bad way, its not turning the engine over all of the time. Any vehicle with a bad starter motor will struggle.

Well, I guess, the bad starter motor is only a result of a bad and cranky engine. 1:04 starter motor worked, but the long startup and immediate stall was a sign that's something wrong with the engine (maybe those "famous" injectors)

It's because they mess with the ecus my uncle is a bus driver and the buses him and his colleagues drive don't work properly as they try to keep the power down but alot of engine problems going on cos of it

Why does he keep trying to engage the starter? Surely should let the bendix stop completely before trying again. Probably buggered the flywheel as well.

Yeah, would not have done the ring gear teeth much good. He should have let the starter come to a complete stop before each consecutive attempt to start. Might have meant only a couple of mis engagements, not twenty or more, before a successful attempt. I'd reckon its pretty hard to hear in a bus though, being at opposite end of the vehicle, still....... Ohh well, more work for the mechs I guess. I think that bus, along with a heap of others, have been dismantled now.

I was on that bus yesterday and it sounded alright so I don't know whats happened to it overnight but a few days a go it got a new lick of paint so I don't know whats going on with it but its obviously fucked

They really do when transdev took over Yorkshire tiger previously owned by arriva we had to take half the fleet off the road because they are all fucked all of the centros had cracked axles tempos fucked up gearboxes 12 solos where re engined
