Regarding Christmas Celebrations: a common model in Germany is to celebrate on Christmas Eve (24th of December) within your household, the first day of Christmas (25th) with one side of your extended family and the second day of Christmas (26th) with the other side. Regarding the German-Argentinian girl: considering giving birth late per generation (around 35 years of age), her grandfather was ca. 10 ... 15 years old. So he was propably doing nothing. Considering giving birth a bit earlier (maybe mid 20s), her grandfather wasn't born yet. So today it is much more likelym that it was her great-grandfather, who actually experienced this era. You people have to adopt to the fact, that WW2 was a bit longer ago to actually work with 30 year old memes. Grandfathers, that were actually alive and at the right age to have actually been part of this, got pretty rare by now.
