Vienna being "German Paris" kinda makes sense in a historical context, since both were capitals of rival empires and both cities were considered "crown jewels" or a way of showing off wealth and prestige, so both cities had the greatest architecture for it's time alongside some massive state constructions.

There were actually a lot of Germans who emigrated to Argentina and other parts of South America before WWII. Some German dialects- which are now extinct in Europe- survive only in South America. Pomeranian is one. The area that was Pomerania is now part of Poland and was de-Germanized after WWII (German populations were expelled).

The Pfeil's performance was predicted to be better than other twin-engine designs due to its unique push-pull configuration and the lower aerodynamic drag of the in-line alignment of the two engines. It was Nazi Germany's fastest piston-engined aircraft of World War II.[page needed] The Luftwaffe was desperate to get the design into operational use, but delays in engine deliveries meant that only a handful were delivered before the war ended.

10:15 Alright, let's figure it out. The woman in the photo looks to be in her twenties (I think, I'm pretty bad at guessing people's ages), so for the sake of simplicity, let's assume she was born in 2000. When talking about history, there is one very convenient unit of time called a "grandfather" - it is the period of time between a grandfather telling his grandchildren "when I was your age" and the referenced events, and is defined as 50 years (in other words, WWI ended just a smidge over two grandfathers ago, William of Normandy conquered England about 49 grandfathers ago, and Julius Caesar was stabbed around 101 grandfathers ago). This gives us an approximate time when her grandfather was born - one grandfather before 2000, or 1950. Even if we assume that both she and her relevant parent were born late in their respective parents' lives, the reasonable assumption is that the earliest her grandfather would have been born is around 1930. In conclusion, the implications about her grandfather are almost certainly hollow - if he were even alive at that point, he was probably more concerned about his toys than the political situation in Germany (and was probably born in Argentina, anyway). Honestly, at this point, it's probably better to retire the whole "your grandfather was a Nazi" joke about Germans and Argentinians, because it's quite unlikely to be true for anyone born after 1980, and almost certainly not after 1990.

@@oooshafiqooo That is certainly true, and I did consider that, but on the other hand, by the time I was 10, I had been in several different clubs, most of which I joined because of my parents' "suggestions", which largely didn't have much of an impact on me later on in life. So while blaming an adult for the state of their nation, especially in a democracy (even a nominal one), is justifiable, I don't believe it's equally fair to lay the same accusations on a child.

Regarding Christmas Celebrations: a common model in Germany is to celebrate on Christmas Eve (24th of December) within your household, the first day of Christmas (25th) with one side of your extended family and the second day of Christmas (26th) with the other side. So, 24th with your kids/parents, 25th at your parents'/grandparents' and 26th at your parents-in-law's/other grandparents'. (Obviously, the dates of parents' and -in-laws' are interchangable)

Regarding the German-Argentinian girl: considering giving birth late per generation (around 35 years of age), her grandfather was ca. 10 ... 15 years old. So he was propably doing nothing. Considering giving birth a bit earlier (maybe mid 20s), her grandfather wasn't born yet. So today it is much more likelym that it was her great-grandfather, who actually experienced this era. You people have to adopt to the fact, that WW2 was a bit longer ago to actually work with 30 year old memes. Grandfathers, that were actually alive and at the right age to have actually been part of this, got pretty rare by now.
