Is a panasonic G9 with removable lenses considered a professional camera or OK with just small lenses?

I think anything with a removable lens is considered a "pro camera" We brought the smallest , most inconspicuous lens we had and got away with it, but it was tiny, like a 50mm pancake lens

THE hottest I have ever been in my life was visiting Chichen Itza! Also when I went probably 20 years ago, the only sold Coca-Cola, no water. I know, right? Crazy! And a little tip for anyone taking a bus tour...if you stop at a small family restaurant on the way back, and ask for water, make sure to break the seal for the water yourself. Once you have the "revenge" you know the difference between that, and a regular stomach issue. I was sick within 15 minutes of leaving the restaurant. By the time I got home, I was still so sick I went to the doctor. He's the one that asked me about the bottled water. I was horrified. His quote "they know the odds of you doing that tour again is so small, so they have no problem refilling water bottles with tap water". 🤮 Still, Mexico is one of my favorite places and I go once a year. Never back to Chichen Itza though 😂

Something to think about for your Awkward travels to areas that restrict cameras but let you bring in phones, or if you're going to be in areas or doing things where you don't want a big camera that you have to carry around and worry about, The Galaxy S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra have 100X Zoom capability with great resolution, so if you want to get images or video of things ypu can't get close to you can still get them with those phones! Also the "S-Pen" stylus pen has a button on it so that you can set your phone up to take a selfie that you both are in and then just have the pen in your hand and press the button to take the picture. No asking someone to take your picture with your phone for you and worrying about them stealing it!
