As an American latino who was in santeria Lukumi and is for over 10 years practice isese lagba as practiced in niha. Lucumi is its own religion, it is not IFA. It is IFA based, but completely different.

do you truly know the historical movements of all of his ancestors?....with 100% certainty? According to anthropologists all humanity began in Africa. According to Yoruba mythology Ile Ife is the place that land was created and spread throughout the world. Ifa is the voice of Olodumare...the universal creator...every person (and even plants, animals, the Orisa etc.) have a unique destiny and Orunmila Eleri Ipin is the witness of creation who can reveal one's destiny and can reveal the nature of each Ori Inu (a person's inner spiritual head) and provide solutions to assist people to accomplish their purpose successfully. Definitely, Yoruba people developed / preserved the sacred spiritual science of Ifa as we know it today (including Yoruba ancestors who were taken to places like Cuba and Brazil), but I believe that every human (whether Igbo or Zulu or Irish) has an Ori and Ifa can help bring their life into alignment with their Ori. Also, Ifa is not really the same as Egungun which are specific ancestral spirits/masquerades. Lastly, If something works, it works...I don't think one has to be of Chinese descent to benefit from Acupuncture or Qi Gong...so if Ifa works (which it does) then it should be useful to anyone who practices it well
