I fought depression from some of my earliest memories. I finally started recovering when I was around 22 years old. Im 28 now and its still a struggle, but its much better now. Even if it takes a long time please remember that with some work it can get better, and its okay if some days are worse than others. Reach out for help, there is no shame in it.

He’s so neglected it’s sad :( I have clinical depression and that’s why I won’t have a kid until I know I can have it under control. It’s not right to put a child through that and getting help should really be a priority. Mental hospitals work with you if you cannot pay the bill for therapy. And there are other resources available. Especially in France where it is a socialist country. It’s not right to use depression as an excuse to not try for your kids. It’s not easy, but getting help for the sake of your kid at least should be reason enough to muscle through it

Aye... Depression isn't simply something to be blown off. Granted, sometimes it can simply come and go, but that doesn't mean it's not rough. It's like everyday is sunny, but every now and then you have a rainstorm come through and it drowns your puppy. It's a sorrow with no real discernible source. It's a pain of the mind that questions whether you should even keep going. It's a sickness of the heart as you hurt and feel rejected by the world, even as you know and understand that you have people who love you and care... You feel isolated... Cold... Alone. Depression isn't exactly something that is caused by anything... Instead it CAUSES other things. It makes you wonder if you are even living your life right, even if nothing is wrong with it. It makes you wonder if even getting out of bed is a good idea. If maybe the best thing is simply to give up on life, and lay in bed until you starve. Depression isn't a joke. It's not something a person can simply "smile" through. It's a weight, dragging them down, it's a leech, sucking on their will to continue, it's a rope, tying them down like a cinderblock. You question everything and always assume the worst. You want to cry, and then hate yourself for a perceived weakness. And no matter what you do... It either goes away on its own... Or you continue to suffer until it does. Wondering if maybe you shouldn't draw the curtain closed yourself on your life. It's not pretty. And it's never okay to laugh about. Depression can show in many ways. Some people suffer from lethargy, unable to put forth effort in anything as they lack motivation and energy. For others it's simply sorrow. Self recrimination as they contemplate every action they have ever taken, finding fault where none was, simply due to hindsight. And for some, sorrow turns to rage, and all they can do is walk around, ready to snap at someone like a grumpy turtle. Wanting to vent, but feeling unable to. So remember to always have an open mind with anyone with depression. It's likely the best thing to help someone you have.
