Just getting started with AWS: Growing more and more frustrated with all those clicks, and I literally woke up fearing that I need to learn another set of cli commands along with what I already know (PowerShell, Bash), and God forbid I need to do it for every cloud solution. But, thanks a ton to you for just tossing that fear factor out of the equation.

One important note: you should NEVER create access keys for root. It is much safer to create a new IAM user assigned to group(s) with restricted credentials for day-to-day CLI operations. Otherwise, if your keys are compromised, your entire account is compromised rather than a strict subset of services. Godspeed, cloud engineers!

Please tell me that AWS has added encryption-at-rest for the credential storage! Sitting right there in your home directory, it doesn't take much of a break-in for someone to steal your credentials.
@ScottKrehbiel8 ай бұрын
Nope - still totally unencrypted. I'll suggest that they might want to add all your credit card info in there as well, just to have all the more Personal Information exposed to hackers.
