I was getting permission denied to one instance. I found it was due to wrong permission. We didn't set root password by that time so, couldn't able to enter into console with Ec2-serial-console. But thanks for this video. It added so much value in my resolution process. Thanks a lot...

Hi, you can check SSM agent service on server and make sure it should be latest and in running state.

Does this solution work for private instance (windows 2019/Amazon Linux 2) with no public IP and no SSH/RDP allowed ? I get the usual SSM error in the aws console while trying to connect using connect-->session manager .

Yes, this solution will work. I will suggest to use Serial Console instead of Session Manager.. Serial Console is best option

@@cloudexindia9651 Without any route to internet (IGW/NAT/VPC Endpoint) Session manager doesn't work from a private subnet. One of the solution by aws support kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZu2pnuXp9WEgMk. Serial console is not supported for the t2 instance family.

Yep.. Serial console does not support to t2 and even t2 is not recommended to use as per AWS as this is old hardware.. And costly than t3. T3 gives same hardware with enhanced performance Second.. Session manager inject client tool to server to establish connection to system. You only need to allow session manager through IAM to access the System.. You can refer AWS session video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKWZf4eNhpKbbNE
