Very nice man!!! So many cruisers!!! And those elwells have such nice lines. That 6lb one is in really great condition!!! I need to pay more attention to them when scrolling ebay!

Wow, you have some super unique pieces. I love made in England Axe Heads. I'm a big Elwell Tasmanian pattern fan. You have a 6 pound essentially dayton, which is crazy! Awesome stuff, man.

@MountainMenAxes i was stoked when the axe heads from England showed up. I just got two Hults Bruks from him this weekend. A 5 lb and 2.4 lb.

@_BigLife_ A 5 pound Hults Bruk! That's one I'm still on the lookout for myself. I know I'll get there someday, though. Great video!

Man, I'd love to make a video and bring some life back to that cracked single bit at the 20 minute mark! Wouldn't be able to turn her into a user, but I could do something artistic with it. I'd give you a shout out to my vast 65 subscriber audience. Haha! Awesome collection! Loving the channel!

Love the combo brands like Spellwell! Think that’s so unique! I have a Sandvik 4lb “wedge” or what we call, Dayton which is stamped ‘HW’ Helko Werk! Always see the Sandvik 2-1/2 lbs but this was a rare find for me. Also, HW made axes sold at harbor freight back a couple decades ago - have the hatchet but still need the 4-1/2# felling axe which I always loose out on the bid on EBay! Saw in the comments you got a 5lb HB?!? Is it an arvika? That is one I am looking for! Don’t look for many these days anymore but specific ones like that I love! Love the collection vids! I am about to send out my first shipment for a trade with Nate! Have a great week my man!

I really like the combination stamps as well. I do have a 5 star Arvika but it's only 4 or 4.5 pounds, I would have to look again. It is in my part 2 video. The 5 pounds I just got is shaped completely different. I did a short on that mail call.

The first Elwell is a 'Rounding' axe, as is the Spearwell. The second Elwell [6lb] was called a 'Yankee' pattern. You would not want to pick a fight with a guy who could wield one of these all day. The biggest eye I have hung was on an Elwell and it was 4" long. I had to fit 3 pairs of wood cross wedges to account for the heavy taper at the ends of the eye. The rounding axe was used mainly to make vertical cuts down through the tree buttresses, prior to felling cuts made close to the ground - makes the most of the timber, leaving minimal stumps

@@_BigLife_ .... and that is why I love channels like this on the more sensible bits of youtube. I learn something from each and every one [even if sometimes it is 'what not to do' :

Came across this video from a great channel ' Axes of Keevil ' with footage showing rounding axes in use back in the day, and thought of you. From about 0:49 onwards. edited to add the link - my brain ain't working today kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYuYaoWhgZVni8U
