The beat is so powerful, like the sound of the axe being dragged or hitting something repeatedly. Their vocals are so powerful and it sounds like a genuine horror movie ost... Jeff, Bryce and Corey made this song what it was. And damn what a song it is!! Their harmony was evident throughout this whole thing. *Just wanted to gather my thoughts with Starkid coming back recently, I can't wait to see what they do next. So...this is a great song. I love the vocals (Corey and Bryce sound so good together!), the cinematography is excellent (thank you Curt) but I do think some of the lyrics sound a bit ableist. I know it's about Lumber-axe having changed from human to...whatever Lumber-axe is, but the lyrics directly compare his (actual) inhumanity with mental health issues that are heavily stigmatised in the real world. Again, it's a great song, but that just makes me uncomfortable.
