Every time I watch your vids with the truck I have to fight off the urge to buy a 380 Yeti. I'm surprised you got lucky with all those different companies parts working together; That rear end sure looks shiny now. Also just a funny cut Joe, but I like how the rear upper links are fine at 0:52, upside down at 0:54, then back to normal.

Haha I was waiting for someone to say it. Essentially all the up close cut scene had the upper links upside down and I cut them out to hide it. This upgrade actually happened over a few late nights little bit at the time. The last day recording had everything the right place and I didn't have time to go back and reshoot the up close cut scenes since the car was packed and put away already. Now I know who's really paying attention :)

Please compare Yeti Trophy vs. Yeti Score. How does the shortened wheelbase and smaller tires affect handling? Is one more fun to drive?

Smaller tires means that it has to turn twice as fast to keep up with something that has bigger wheels and tires, so most likely won't be as fast... but if you're not looking to speed but more jumps a shortened wheelbase is not for you... a short wheel base is not necessarily so good for jumps because there's too much twisting and turning midair when it comes to short wheel bases... they move faster but it looks extremely unrealistic and can be very bad and make you lose control... longer wheelbase with bigger wheels and tires is best for jumping crawling and just about everything else, then again if you were going for racing he would go for Traxxas lol

Very nice upgrades. What are your front shocks and setup? I have the yeti kit with 50 weight oil on front shocks and full tight springs and bottoms out on drops very easy.. So rear shocks are great on drops with 30 weight oil but front shocks for me are weak.. :/

Agree front shocks gotts go, I am using a slash big bore rear shock, mines are from HR, but pretty much any slash rear shocks with 30w weighty works great in the yeti front

I bought aftermarket proline rear shocks and used the stock back ones up front. Works pretty well

More travel up front is bad because when the shocks fully extend it almost pulls the dogbones out so if you get longer front shocks mount them in different holes than stock.

For your upper links, are they wraith Lower links to shorten it with the twin hammers lower ones?

Did you have issue binding the rear gears ? Mine spins freely half way and gets a little harder. Do you have any suggestions. Great video

I will also build a same project. wy don't you use the rear trailing arms and the rod ends for the upper suspension links from strc? they fits not? I think i use the parts from boomracing, but i don't know if these fits with de ssd axle...? greets from switzerland

this is a shorten wheel base mod, so the strc trailing arms are too long

Have you had any issues with the SSD axle bending axle shafts? I just purchased the wide one before reading some folks were having issues..

I don't have experience with the wide one, but my friends and I have this standard width version on a few yetis we have been bashing then very hard (doing jumps on BMX park and on track), the axle housing is holding very well usually is the trailing arm rod end that gives before the axles housing.

JPRC, I'm interested in getting the Axial yeti but I want to have a different body, the Chevy Silverado 1500 Clear Body. With these upgrades make the base too short to use the body?

Yup those are what you need, but you also need the scx10 hex kit, and a set for proline protrac (slash) wheels and a set of regular slash rear wheel

+JPRC I just got the Axial Score Yeti and I want to shorten the wheel base at the end to use Proline's Chevy Silverado 1500 Clear Body with the axial rear roll cage. However, I am worried about the axial rear sway hitting the cage. As of now the sway bar does barley clears hitting the tire carrier cage. Should I look into getting a different set of shorter rear sway bars? or will the stock rear sway bars on the score axial yeti not hit the rear tire carrier cage.

Oh we have all traxxas models from slash to stampede to erevo to xo-1, the slash 2wd is my favorite.
