Who would have ever thought a stock motor would smoke prematurely pushing huge tires and overdrive front diff gears. Lol Having driven the PN90 and PN70 in an SCX24, I prefer the 70T. It has plenty of torque so that it is not notice between the two, and more wheel speed. That mount is awesome and serves as an effective heatsink. It is well designed and built.

Thank you for showing that a performance brushed motor is a viable option. Seems most people go directly to brushless. Predictions for the following two weeks: Lizard/Iguana ESC ($50), Emax servo ($9), alloy shocks ($25), and a Futaba RX ($35?).
@year1camaro3 жыл бұрын
Thats a lot of weight added thou. I left mine with the stock esc, works fine for crawling. I did go for a better servo than the emax too.
@derrickwilliams29033 жыл бұрын
@@year1camaro Not necessarily. I run a Lizard with the bluetooth module and a micro RX. The entire setup is 9.9g, including a XT30 connector. The stock ESC/RX is 12.6g. Also, the Lizard/Iguana is worlds beyond the stock ESC's capabilities as far as modulation and you can tune it to fit your needs. It is 100% worth the money. Anyone who disagrees likely hasn't used one. It's that good.
@year1camaro3 жыл бұрын
@@derrickwilliams2903 i dont belive my decased desoldered esc/receiver combo weights more than your set up. sorry. and I dont have time to weight it all it seems more than obvious without going throught the trouble. I wish Matt weight his esc before he put it back in
@derrickwilliams29033 жыл бұрын
@@year1camaro Have you ever used a Lizard/Iguana? Seems you are missing that point. Even for an extra couple of grams, it's more than worth it. Not telling you what to do, but having a closed mind could be limiting your rig's potential.
@year1camaro3 жыл бұрын
@@derrickwilliams2903 here it is in a nut shell, its about motor control, and I have plenty of that with my setup. its not just about a few grams even thou in this small of an rc every gram counts imo. shoot i see harley designs removing his on off switch to cut down on weight. the brushless system put the weight up higher, just what ive been fighting against this whole time. there is no benefit to brushless, sorry. no one ever crawls as slow as all the videos unless they're on meth. I mean who wants to wait for that guy. who wants to crawl that slow unless its on your work bench and your doing it for likes,,,,just like flex shots. crawling is about momentum, not who can crawl slower. its just silly. not to mention a waste of money that could be spent on other useful mods.

I've been walking past my daughters dead SCX24 for a year or so now after replacing the motor in it twice. They are always getting it wedged under the furniture and continuing to hold the throttle on and I think that really kills the little motor quickly. Perhaps this is the fix I'm looking for. Thank you for the informative video.

Nice motor breakdown and install. Did you run into any Y-link clearance issue on the motor mount? I have seen that was an issue with the PN mount.

I do not have an issue there but with the shorter front links I could see it being a possibility.

Hey Josh. In the Livestream you mentioned injora was a blight on the industry. Could you explain? First I had heard of this.
@HarleyDesignsInc3 жыл бұрын
I usually don’t get into it too much but basically they just steal designs and make cheap copies. They build their base off of theft, this is nothing new of course as many industries see the same thing. They are just one of many of these companies that often lead to the decline of industries. RC didn’t see as much of this until around 2017.

Ok thanks. I have been away from the hobby for a while. I recently retired and finally have time for things I want. I appreciate that you are letting us know about these things. Someone who is in the loop helps us know how we can work together for the health of our hobby. I don't have a problem paying for a quality product. That said, before I saw your warning I had already made a purchase from injora and am actually impressed with their beadlocks. Can you tell me who's they ripped off, that way I can purchase the real thing from here forward. Thank you for helping us defend our thing from those who would destroy it for their gain.
