Good points. I picked up one myself ,actually wife got it for me for Christmas surprise surprise...and my drive shaft was laying in the box when I opened it. Took it on some serious crawls today and it did well. I was impressed with servo even considering its so underpowered for the rig. Tires and rims will be first for me followed bg some suspension work and brass... Ready to see this thing get flexy

You will have so much fun crawling with these. Key is to drive it like a crawler and it will bring smiles!

Thanks for the sub! It's really a fun rig aside from a few of the issues. You can definitely take care of them and build this up to be a very fun rig though!

Ran mine today after fixing my non existant front diff bearing lol. only thing I did was your brace and Boomracing Driveshafts apart from that completely stock. I love how good this runs out on the trails my next thing ill do is probably tires and leave it as is until something breaks.
@RevolutionX4 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's enough to have a lot of fun with this thing right away. A lot of potential, and at the $350 price... room for a bunch of tuning and personalization!

I bought one. I couldn’t pass up the deal. I was shocked how capable it was out of the box
@RevolutionX4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that deal was fantastic! One extra axle for the price of a regular 4x4 rig! No-brainer! On top of that, all the aftermarket of a SCX10II at its disposal.
@glog76824 жыл бұрын
Got mine today driveshaft fell out the rig and was loose in box. and the clicking in the middle axle was there. Guess I’ll have to shim it soon. Hopefully there will be a video of that
@RevolutionX4 жыл бұрын
Ah, that's a bummer about needing to shim! The driveshaft is easy enough to take care of though.

Stock rock sliders from the scx10 iii jlu jeep fit the umg 6x6 body pretty much perfectly

Cool, I might try them out. I'm currently using some SCX10 sliders.

Don't suppose you have a part number or a link to the rock sliders I'm after a pair for my 6x6? They the SCX10 III jeep wrangler sliders? Cheers

Very good tips! The junFac shafts I’ve had issues with (on 4x4) the pins wanting to come out. I will hit you up for the chassis braces as I don’t have a 3D printer
@RevolutionX4 жыл бұрын
That's good to know! I'll keep an eye out for that issue if I swap to the Junfac shafts. So far the ones I bought are holding up fine, it was just the o-ring for a pin retainer that annoyed me.

Great video! I just picked up one used. It’s missing the upper half of the snorkel. Do you know of anyone 3d printing them? I’ve been looking around but haven’t been able to find a replacement. I thought about trying to find another snorkel and try to make it work.
@RevolutionX Жыл бұрын
These 6x6's are so fun. I can't think of any other place to look for the snorkel other than robbing it off another UMG10 or UMG10 6x6. The parts area already scarce for the body. If I have some time, I can model it up and 3D print one. I'll let you know if I get around to it.

I have the 6x6 UMG now for one month and I drive it 2 times a week for around 2 hours each. Now the middle differential seems to loose its potential - the wheels are not turning anymore. I guess I have to shimm (did I write it correct?) it, hopefully it is not broken yet
@RevolutionX3 жыл бұрын
Yup, looks like you have to shim the gears/output shaft. It's a real puzzling one. Some people have issues with it, and some don't. The most foolproof way to get rid of the issue is to just divorce the rear axles into separately driven driveshafts.
@stanstevens44523 жыл бұрын
Love this 6x6 interested in getting the upgrades from you, that you 3d printed, let me know how to purchase. I appreciate and enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.

If you're talking about the picture preview on thingiverse... yeah it doesn't work, but you can still download the files. If you don't have a 3D printer and need someone to print it, contact me at contact@revolutionx.com and I can print one out for you for a fair price.

Good call! You can live with the stock ones initially, but yeah you definitely should change them out later on. Especially the rod ends.

Alas, you may have missed out unless you have a local hobby shop that is still selling it for the sale price. $350 for a 6x6 is definitely a deal worth taking on this one.

what are the new rear drive shafts you recomend ?couldnt catch name on video

Any steel driveshafts that are made as a 2 piece design male/female. I mentioned Junfac, but I've heard good things about Boom Racing BADASS Driveshafts as well.
@cagerage214 жыл бұрын
Great video! I jumped on this deal also man. Can you post the link to the junfac drive shafts? I will be doing these mods this week!!
@RevolutionX4 жыл бұрын
The driveshafts seem to be out of stock right now. www.rpphobby.com/product_p/jun90046.htm All you really need is the rear-most driveshaft though. Look for a 2-piece driveshaft with the length around 85mm compressed 113mm extended.

HELLO brother,I Have a Question WILL THE GMADE BOM U DID BEFORE THE ''STOCK GMADE BOM FRONT BUMPER ''',WORK OR WILL FIT ON THE TRX4 SPORT??iS IT COMPATIBLE ?aNY FEEDBACK IS GREATLY APPRECIATED
@RevolutionX4 жыл бұрын
You know, I have never tried, but I know the mounting system is different. The TRX4 Sport bumper mount have square pegs if I remember correctly? The GMADE BOM has Axial style round pegs.
