Oh man! This is the axle I want for my Yeti 380 ! I did all those same upgrades to my stock Ar60 housing. And I am still not happy with it. I could add aluminum bearing clamps for the bearings on the locker. but I don't believe it will help much. Also you are probably the only guy who has a video of this exact axle. I really appreciate you sharing this! !

make sure to get the HD shafts along with it. the stock ones lasted half a battery pack for me. broke like a breadstick at the axle pin hole. housing is beautiful but the shafts are garbage

That is one heck of a top-notch upgrade Keith! That SSD rear axle really does the job nicely. I hope it works out well for you it looks like it takes care of a lot of the alignment and fitment issues. Wonderful job once again that is an amazing truck you have there buddy!

Yes sir nice. Yeah I had problems with mine where the gear mesh was off too loose which caused a loud cracking noise. I guess the plastic mounts that hold the diff was flexing. So Im thinking of getting the intergy complete rear axle. Or maybe this setup. Thanks man for the post. Aloha.

Thanks Flash! Im hearing mixed things about the axle shafts included in the SSD kit. I have the HD axle shafts on order. Hopefully it will work out to be durable. $110 for the axle and $25 for the HD shafts is Still not bad.

Hey Keith, I've been watching your channel since you started and you do some great work, that ssd axle looks great but I wish you would not recommend the product until you beat it and know that it is a good product, as you know some things look great but just aren't, please do not take this the wrong way, love your channel and everyday rc as well, he has a lot of the same cars I do, keep up the good work!

Hey Corey thanks for your comment. I'm always open to constructive criticism. I will surely take this info and try to make the channel better. My recommendation in this video was primarily based on fitment and visual inspection. This axle appears to be fine quality, but I did warn about the axle shafts needing to be upgraded to the SSD HD offering. I wish SSD would just leave out the included axle shafts, reduce the price, and folks could purchase the HD shafts separately.

YUUUUUP! i love my SSD Diamond axle housing but i did bend a axle on the back of my AX10. i haven't pulled it out yet, seems to be rolling along fine still

also had trouble on my AX10 with my SSD Diamond front CVD axle, it didn't last three 2S batteries, broke on the short side. I've since installed Vanquish and its been great ever since. no rebuild kits for SSD that i know of yet either

+Rob G SSD offers an HD axle shaft set. I ordered it but have not received it yet. It's disappointing that the axle shafts they include aren't more durable. Of course the whole assembly plus HD shafts are still cheaper than the Vanquish axle. The Vanquish is a work of art, but very expensive!

I spoke with axiel about bearing walk in the stock case. After building 4 axles i found the pinion was climbing the ring gear eating into the case. The stock motor and stock gearing is to much for the axle Suspension angle With side load on the bearing. The ssd is the best thing that can be done. I race u4 with my yeti an after making the switch to the SSD axle. I have not been in it other than to replace a shaft. Due to being bent. Im now running a 4600kv and havnt loked back.

joe 212 Yep, I’ve had lots of issues using Axial plastic gear housings. Now I replace all of them with aluminum. Check out my latest Yeti Rock Racer video installing the new Exotek chassis! It’s an awesome addition to the Yeti!

Will all the metal upgrades not change the center of wheight (front/rear) of the vehicle? BTW, I have received my Yeti Score truck kit, and I will be building it very soon. I've still not made up my mind about the body theme. I did get several optional decals for the body though.

Tomas Dahlgren Yes it does but the Score is front heavy stock. The weight in the rear helps prevent nose diving

Everything Road Biking The rear of the RR10 is a Yeti axle so it should fit

hi keith, with the 225 slw hubs is the rear wheelbase the same as stock or if you were using the boom racing axle? on the video your rear wheels look very close to the body when you push the shocks down.

It's pretty close. I didn't get measurements before doing the upgrade. The tires do tuck under the fenders still though.

+Woko's Garage Good deal friend! That boom racing axle is a good product! It has proven itself on my yeti rock racer! You will enjoy the SSD as well, it's appears to be high quality! I haven't put the SSD to the test yet, but Rich at the RCNetwork said it has done well for him on two of his RC's!

+Bulletproof RC hi Keith how's your truck running? just received my vp 225's in the post today, finally I've got all the parts for my ssd axle setup oh the joys of living in the UK lol, just a quick question, I'm thinking of putting a hobbywing sc8 esc in my score it just seems a easier option of messing around with a separate bec and castle link, do you think the sc8 will run the stock vanguard motor ok?, cheers buddy

+Woko's Garage All is running well and no issues with the SSD axle! I have the Hobby Wing Sc8 in mine with a cheap 3100kv motor and the combo works fantastic!

This video showcases axial gear and bearing failure. Do you really think less grease is the answer? 🤔

@@krlaturn too much grease in the diff will cause resistance. Stuffing the housing full is a bad idea and can prematurely wear the bearings especially if the bearings weren't properly lubricated as well.
