I switched to SSD DIamond Pros on my Gatekeeper after an encounter with "$60 rock," a rock that broke 3 axle housings in 3 sequential trail runs. I really like the quality, I have total confidence whenever I hit that rock that I'll either get over it or at least drive away in disgrace with a working truck. Nothing makes my allergies angrier than a rainy day, especially with leaves on the ground. Wet leaves is a recipe for sinus pain and dizziness. Hope it gets better!

First video I saw on your channel, was a YT recomendation of Toothless half-way into its build (i want to remember it was a cantilever video, and I got curious), so Toothless has a special place in the Canyon from my point of view. Since then, I just learned more and more, and had a lot of fun. Thanks Mr Canyon!!

Nice to see some SSD love. They make great stuff, but are rarely in the news, so thanks. Their complete rear axle can be found all day for $70 US. A bargain. The front, though, isn't offered as a complete, or with any bundled parts. You have to buy everything separately, and you'll spend $150+ to get there. $220 for a set of axles isn't bad, but I wish they would find a way to get the costs of the front axle down, while still maintaining a little profit. I really think that they could sell a lot more axles.

Well, as a newbie with rc crawling, I think you do quite well on your videos, most of the lingo to me sounds french, I have alot to learn. I do like the fact you dont push big company products on us like most channels. I do apologize for not knowing your trucks' names yet. Love the content, especially the tire tests. Keep it up buddy.

I feel like I've said it in a video before-- I have this... problem? issue? where I just talk about rigs as if everyone watching is intimately familiar with every single one. So that's something I try to work on. Or at least feel like I'm trying to work on. Also, I'd never push anything I wouldn't spend my own money on, and most of the stuff in this hobby is grossly overpriced. Watching nearly everything in the hobby get 25% more expensive in two years isn't great. Especially when most of the "name brand" stuff was too expensive to begin with.

I had the same problem with the amazon C-hubs. I went to a comp and one strip stripped the splines on the axle end my day of Pscale was over luckily I had my Pro to run still. I looked for SSD axles found them not available ended up paying way to much for Beeftubes had to beat the C-hubs on with a mallet and of course I got one on wrong 🤦🏻♂️had to beat it back off to get right. I really like your channel I have it on while I’m working currently testing temperature controllers for the under belly of a C130. Keep up the good work I would have a blast spending the day playing with tiny trucks with you👍

Love the video, Def fun to watch and learn. What grease do you use/recommend for axles and transmission?
@CrawlerCanyon11 ай бұрын
My favorite (for now) is StaLube CV Joint Grease. It's petroleum based so it's a little stinkier than lithium-based, but it's loaded with moly and seems to "sling" off the gears less. Any autoparts store should have it.

I have been searching for a good set of hex bits with a quarter inch drive for my drill. All the ones i have tried a thus far have been crap. Could you possibly point me in the direction of a decent set? Thanks so much for the videos keep up the amazing work.
@CrawlerCanyon11 ай бұрын
amzn.to/48xDC7N. If you get yourself a handle, you can use them in the drill and as hand drivers. I have an ancient Ofna handle I use for just that purpose.

You just did a video the other day on the MEUS axles, just watching this on the ar44. Which in your opinion is a better axle for the$ ?
@CrawlerCanyon11 ай бұрын
Apples and pears, kinda. The MEUS are portal only, and semi-clones of the F10-- which is good. The SSD Pro are "hop ups" for AR44s, which can be filled entirely with Amazon parts-- which is also nice. They're both (fairly) economical options, and there's nothing wrong with that. I have two sets of each, so no one is "winning" yet.
@brianconville40582 ай бұрын
Where did you get the servo mount and links I’m having trouble with clearance on my front axle, thanks!
@CrawlerCanyon2 ай бұрын
I'm just using an Injora SOA bracket (the kind that attaches from the back to the bolts that hold on the diff cover) but I did have to widen the upper holes out slightly to get them to better line up with the hole in the SSD housing. amzn.to/478SDNW It's pretty straightforward. The links are the economy RCLions high-clearance links from Amazon amzn.to/4e7eDeb
