In her vow, Olivia said she’s glad that Kalvin isn’t the Prince Charming that she has dreamed of marrying when she was a little girl because he’s so much better. He’s her Sunday kind of love.. the kind that makes her breathe a little deeper, laugh a little harder, sleep a little longer. He’s the kind of love that makes her feel like home.
That sentence struck me like a lightning bolt. In a world where everyone is obsessed in finding the kind of love that will sweep her off her feet and makes her fall head over heels, we forget all about what love really is. We lose sight of the kind of love that God actually wants us to have; the kind of love that is about giving, not receiving. When you release all the pressure of thinking about how you can benefit from the relationship, and shift your focus into what you can bring into the relationship, you get it back, thousand times in fold, when you find comfort in the person that you love, when are at ease, knowing that everything in your world is good. This is the kind of love that God wants you to find. The one that makes you feel comfortable and easy like a Sunday morning.
To hear Olivia speak that testimony about her husband made me feel truly and genuinely happy for them. As they step into a new season of life, I just want to pray for blessings to rain down on them, to be blessed as much as their story of love have blessed other people, including myself. And I pray that their marriage be filled with a lot of breathing a little deeper and laughing a little harder and sleeping a little longer… I believe that their marriage will be even more beautiful than the celebration of their love. Congratulations again to Kalvin and Olivia!
Cheers,
Kalvin Ananda
