Note: I didn't realise at the time that he had also sent the Cruiser with the AC in SZ 61. I didn't even notice it in combat and I was on auto-pilot, so I was convinced that the AC hit me twice in combat 🤣 So that is why I was frustrated for no reason. I hope my antics add some entertainment value and make you laugh. That's all I hope for haha.

Enjoyed the game, even if it was short.

I appreciate your reactions, good and otherwise. Ironically the sullen silences after a round of misses speak loudest of all.😂

Ok, I had a game with Allies, where I strafed Ukraine on 1st Round leaving only the Fighter there and retreated with 3 tanks and 1 art. My question is this right move? I heard you have to strafe it instead of taking it most times, depending on results, but this is literally the theoretical best outcome to strafe and I still think it was a weak move. This fighter gone for the Germans will ease pressure on UK early naval building, also capturing Ukraine force them to attack with at least few units there instead of focusing north. Idk, IPC wise Fighter is 10 + 2 for capturing Ukraine + let's say 2 infantry lost (+6) totaling 18 IPC benefit if you capture the region versus 3 tanks and 1 art - totaling 21 IPC if retreating (if you have less troops remaining it is even more meaningless to retreat). Basically both options have almost identical IPC effect for USSR and Germany but the Germans seem to be in much better spot if they decide to harrass UK or to amass Airforce anywhere.

Recently my stance on strafing Ukraine is on the fence. I am currently playing an Allies game and I had a 1art 3 tanks left Ukraine strafe and chose to retreat leaving my opponent with a tank and fighter. His G1 he wipped out West Russia with 2 tanks left, baring in mind my West Russia result was the best I achieved this season with 1 infantry lost. Which completely negated my excellent R1. He got lucky, but despite that I think taking Ukraine is vital on a Russian standard. Unless I approached it wrong or I just got unlucky myself. Someone let me know. You'll see video evidence soon of what I'm talking about. You make a very good arguement. However, I don't think the cost difference/gain matters because I now think Ukraine is imperative to take R1 since it protects WR, stops a Ukraine stack most cases and denies Germany trading Caucasus. Even if Russia takes heavier losses in Ukraine, as a strategic holding, it far superior to take the territory. As I found out first hand on my game against Cagey Viking, it's catastrophic if Germany can take Caucasus round 1.
