Axis Deer in the Texas Hill Country

They have migrated further south as well. I have seen them on trail cams at our low fence ranch in Duval County. Thank you for the information.

I have hunted axis the last 12 years. 5 years on a low fence 3200 acre ranch with zero hunting pressure other than myself and landowners son. The last 6 years on family 300 acres in comfort. The difference in behavior I've seen is in comfort we have a healthier and larger wt buck population and during the wt rut axis don't frequent feeders as often. When the rut winds down they come in large numbers to feeders. Also the axis harvested in Roosevelt were often short legged or squaty...vs the larger frame and taller we have in comfort

Can you do a video showing and explaining the vital organs on an axis? I have heard further up then you would aim on a whitetail. Where exactly is that?
