I'm not big on this sort of song but I know many love this song. Axl can sing anything and it sounds great. He has a great voice and though hard rock/metal are his thing, that is more a for younger men's style. Not really suitable as a style for older men or even women, unless they are young, very strong, with masculine type voices. It's got nothing to do with misogyny, like feminists wrongly believe, nor is it an ageism issue. It's just that some musical genres are best for one gender or the other eg a the sweet feminine girl groups like Diana Ross and The Supremes a n d many others in the 60's or the all male later era groups either singing wild, secually bawdy male stuff lije Take A Long Li n e, Centrefold, Lily The Pink or sensitive, sophisticated male stuff eg El Divo or the good, nicely scubbed, clean cut well groomed 'boy groups' of the more recent era. The type of song and the genre must suit the the singer's gender and age group at the very least, though also other things, ypoveg their ethnicity, accent, social class etc. Ypu can have great talent, fantastic voice, look great and still end up ludicrous if you sing the wrong songs from the wrong genres for you, the wrong way. Like sophisticated refined English speakers trying to sing Aussie folkloric sons with a British accent and we won'r even go there with 'wog rock' (Europeans trying to do Anglo style rock with thick foreign accents etc. I once couldn't resist laughing in a karaoke club when an aged 60's era relic in his tie dyed T shirt announced he wanted to sing Britney Speares' 'Hit Me Baby One More Time', you k n ow the lyrics: 'Oh baby, baby, how was I supposed to know, that something wasn't right yeah etec rtc'. As one of the few older misfits myself in such a bar, I felt sorry for him, tapped him gently on the shoulder and whispered 'You're not serioysly going sing THAT, are you, mate? Try Innagaddadavida by Iron Butterly, would really suit you...They'd love it'. But he WAS serious, got up, started singing that Britney Speares song and it was all correct, obviously he'd practised hard. But everybody jeered and laughed hurled anuse at him, tolk him get off, called him a few choice Aussie bad names and it practically turned i n to an all out brawl, with Security needing to break it up. 'Told ya, mate!' I said to this po I r guy I felt sorry for, adding, try again, when they all settled down a bit in this joint, over ageism, sexism stuff. Sing 'My Generation' by the 60's era band 'The Who', they love 60's stuff. But he'd had enough of this scene, told them to just 'F... off' and stormed off. They all cheered as he tried leave. 'Hey, fon't go, yet... This is fun... instead of just TELLING this sick lot here to just 'F... Off', why don't you trying singing the same words, like 'The Who' almost say, but avoided censorship back then, by singing the lyrics 'Why don't you all just fffff...fade away, don'try to dig what we all say. Talkin' 'bout my generation...' The art of telling society to F.. off without actually using these exact explicit words was so cleverly done by popular music artists from earlier eras, like the 60's, 70's, 80's and even older generations. But such artistry, musical craft has now been lost and all we have is this boring current era 'in your cace' brazen, ugly feminist etc sexuality, no wit or subtlety about it. Stuff like Lady Marnelad3, which, though feminist sexual, raunchy and sleazy, isn't quite as bad as dome of the other popular music of thos era. Mostly by atrocious feminist type performers, as the guys tend to just do this effete, demasculinised stuff, which is not surprising, given how current era feminism has basically desexed boys, like you desex Tomcats.
