For the 4.56s, how did it handle 37s on the highway? I've heard that it's not bad but I'm not sure. As of now, I'm planning on re-gearing for my 35s, and adding an eaton locker in the rear, and keeping the front open for now. I don't really do any crazy wheeling so it's hard to justify a UD44, or swapping rubi axles since it'll have to come with supporting mods like the tie rod etc. I don't go crazy on rocks yet. Option for now was to do a mild build, truss the front axle, and Cs, dynatrac BJs, leave it open, and then wheel it like that on 35s until I start wheeling more often and grow my skills. Just not sure that if that time comes for 37s, if I'll leave it on 4.56s tho

Been waiting for this video for so long!!!!!!! That’s crazy that the axle had two leak points. I was wondering if it was going to bend or break with all the wheeling y’all do. My first question, is the one axle wider than the other seeing the one is a rubicon axle or did you get the front rubicon width? So re-use the front “C’s” but the rear came with rubicon “C’s”? I know y’all don’t like the dealership, and I forget what tuner y’all have but are you able to change what the computer is reading, or is it just the gears that it needs to recognize? Fancy tool you got there to get the tie rod and drag link off. I just used a prickle fork on my old tie rod and drag link but if I do my axle swap I’ll have to consider taking care of the ends. I haven’t had locker(air or electric). I’m hoping whichever ones I get they won’t have too many issues. That’s nice the rear came with new brakes. 16:50ish, what’s with the sway bar connections being disconnected or am I seeing something? Nvm y’all explained. When I contacted steer smarts they said just to contact them and it’s just a simple purchase of the tube or something for the width difference. I wouldn’t weld. Have y’all thought about the antirock sway bar kit? Sorry about the long comment. Really have been looking forward to this video since a axle swap on my sport is going to be one of the next big things to my Jeep. Awesome video!!!

The front we got in rubicon length... so both front and rear got stretched out some. More benefit for stability

Yes... u reuse the front knuckles and brakes... however the back u have to swap brakes if u don’t have the d44 back there.... the caliper don’t fit over the rubicon rotor. It’s a tad thicker.

@@JLLIFEOFFROAD Great video...If the total cost was $6300 + the cost of the rear axle regear, I'm curious why you didn't buy takeoff front & rear rubi axles for $3500 ish and regear them and save $2500? You could weld on a truss for cheap to reinforce the housing.

Didn’t you guys run the Yukon fad delete ? I was running into the same issue with Yukon fad delete and it caused an axle seal leak on my passenger side, replaced 2 seals and continued to have issues, just for shits and giggles put the stock shaft back in(without replacing the seal) leak is gone.....I’m curious if this is what happened to you guys too
@JLLIFEOFFROAD4 жыл бұрын
U know, I recall reading ur post about tht... I 100% expected better from Yukon.... I’d recommend getting the RCV putter seals and calling it a day... Based on times.... I think the Yukon shafts just weren’t tight enough.... granted.... don’t fix the Pinon seal and mistys been ready for an axle upgrade for some time...
@dailyexplorer4134 жыл бұрын
@@JLLIFEOFFROAD yeah Yukon is a pain in the ass to deal with the amount of money I spent on getting the seal replaced (I was to lazy to do it myself) and the axles alone I wish I would of went rcv out the gate and went with their 2 piece Just for shits and giggles you still have those stock shafts for misty Jeep? Throw them back in the housing and fill the housing up rotate the axle a few times and see if it’s holding I’m pretty sure that Yukon has some bullshit shafts I measured them and they are little bit bigger on the sealing surface and I’m pretty sure they are burning up seals, currently battling with them now

Couple question did you use the same knuckles from the Dana 30 and Dana 35? And did you use the same steering link/components? I’m getting take off from rubicon and the end is missing the knuckles tie rod and drag link
@JLLIFEOFFROAD4 жыл бұрын
So some steering systems,,,, have sport Vs rubicon specific linkage. Synergy does not. So we reused it, but do not intend on keeping it in. We want something heavier duty. On the M186(dana 30) you will reuse the knuckle and brakes from your old axle. The rear M200 (Dana35) you won't reuse none of it. If you are replying that one with the rubicon M220 (dana44) you will need brakes off of a rubicon (just the rear) the sport axle brakes will not fit over the rotor. Does that help?

Look forward to seeing how they preform. Rubicon breaks were larger than the sport... Going to have to go back and review what y'all said there. Linkage looks like a simple piece to mimic amd make correct fabbing one yourself or let me know and I'll get the shop to toss one together from stainless. Again great job ... All 3 of you ;)

Jeep is completely incapable of making a good axle period, just like chrysler cant make transmissions but I'll digress lol my dirty thirty has survived a full year now of wheeling east coast and now here in NM 2 to 3 times a week but much work was needed, welded the tubes to the diff housing trussed gussets 1/2 thick diff cover to completely eliminate any deflection making my driveshaft my weak point which is fine with me, deflection will break any ring and or pinion regardless of axle, chromoly shafts and chromoly u joints with full clips tube thickness really doesnt add much strength its tube diameter physics is funny that way smh I have a kingpin 60 sterling 10.25 and 14 bolt sitting just cant bring myself to add all that weight and ruin my daily driving of my rig guess I'll drop coin on a tera 44 with lockout hubs and use the sterling with a ballistic fab shave kit smh jeeps should of found a cheaper hobby
