I have recently become concerned with the air quality in my workshop and decided to buy the Axminster AC15AFS Air Filter System.
This video is not sponsored. I paid for it with my own money and this is a completely independent review based on my own observations.
This video is about the why's, the decision to buy this machine, the unboxing and the installation in my workshop.
The specs can be seen on Axminster's own site:
www.axminstert...
Part 2 will be an actual review once I have had it working for a couple of weeks.

Hello, A very interesting video... I have a small space in a joinery workshop and have built a partition wall to keep the sawdust away for my machine tools (Lathe, Mill, etc...) if this works out well for you then I might add one to my workshop... I look forward to watching part two. Take care. Paul,, Ps. I am a fan of Dimitris channel too.

I'll say the obvious "dust control it very important" especially in small workshops where its very difficult to have different spaces for woodworking, metalworking, blacksmithing, grinding etc. Its really a great addition for your workshop. Excellent video as always! Looking forward for part two! Take care my friend Dimitris

Felt like you had perfect conditions to put it on chains from the ceiling, but I might be wrong.

Sadly the ceiling in my workshop is incredibly high and it is a very old house. I couldn't do that, but I agree, it would have been ideal.

Hey Nick! Very nice video. I can relate to the dust problem and was looking for a solution to controlling this mess for some time. I got quite a few things to say so here goes: 1) Regarding the vacuum pump that you have, or whatever they are called. You can do a modification to make them appropriate for metal and install one on your grinder. You just have to install a bucket with water between the start of the hose and the machine. The goal being, making the way for metal burning hot particles more difficult so they end up in the water instead of inside the pump burning the filters etc. 2) Please make a review video after a while. 3) Is this intended to be used for example while you are grinding or when you leave the shop so it clears the air. Reason I am asking is because once the dust settles on the floor and benches it is to heavy for the machine to suck into. 4) lastly after for example 4 hours of grinding while the filter is on, do you have to clean somehow the filters or the dust accumulates and just falls to your bench? Keep up it up, Panos

Thank Panos. I do use the water bucket solution which does collect most of the heavy stuff. 2. I certainly will. 3. I would certainly have it while I am working (grinding, sanding or sawing) but I hope it would collect very small particles that are hanging in the air afterwards. 4. the filters are removable and you can take them outside and blow them with a compressor or vacuum them. However you will have to replace them eventually if they get too clogged with dust. They cost about £25 each.

Really interesting video. I've been concerned by the dust from quite a while too, and that seems like a good idea to eliminate the remaining fine dust that alway keeps floating in the air. Looking forward to see how well that sistem works. Ps: On the particular case of the belt grinder I found that one of the best ways to avoid dust while grinding metal is using one of those water mist refrigeration devices, is a lot less messy that I thought and also heavily decrease the posibility of overheating blades.

Thanks. I am very interested in your mist idea. Where can I find out about that.

@@Ukenick I think the "original" one, or at least the one I've seen first on the internet, is called "kool mist", and they sell a cooling liquid you mix with water and also the mist device. Most of information was from american people on forums because the company is there. But as getting it here in Spain with customs and all was crazy expensive I searched for an alternative and found different devices on ebay for about 13€ (from china of course). I ordered one to give it a try and it actually works pretty well with just water (you need an air compresor though, even better, a quiet one). I'll take some pics of mine if you are interested and I'll send them to you.

As you said, it's very important to control dust in your shop. Is this considered to be a HEPA grade filter, and are filters readily available? Looking forward to Part 2, Nick!

@@Ukenick Doing well, Nick. Thanks for asking. Have seen the Jet brand here in the States, but very expensive ($400).
