Axolotls can bond with their owners, but people really should avoid touching their axolotls. It is dangerous for them. Also, regeneration is not as easy as it sounds. It takes a long time and is very tiring
@saraalexander95894 күн бұрын
that's a good point, as I imagine most people would want to interact/touch them as this video implies, because they are cute.
@Kissabear6664 күн бұрын
@saraalexander9589 Yes, lots of people ask me if they can touch axolotls or hold them, but in reality it's just like how you shouldn't hold frogs
@saraalexander95894 күн бұрын
@Kissabear666 can you explain why it is bad for axolotls and frogs to hold them? I've held frogs and toads in the wild before.
@Kissabear6664 күн бұрын
@saraalexander9589 Their skin is very sensitive to the oils on our skin because it causes their slime coat to rub off. The slime coat helps them stay wet. It also isn't safe because you could pass diseases to them

Can they walk out of the water
@ManuhComH20 күн бұрын
Yes, but they end up losing their aquatic form completely, they usually do that due to lack of food or if they are on a unsuitable place to live

like on Minecraft sorry
@SloppyNoob-h4c19 күн бұрын

@Scaredy_Cat-fe6vz16 күн бұрын
@@ManuhComH Axolotls cannot walk out of the water. Drying out would cause their slime coat to degrade and they would die. Morphing into a true amphibious form takes several weeks for axolotls, so axolotls that are not morphed will definitely die on land.
@muzz21210 күн бұрын

Axolotls are cute but have no personality. The video is lying.
@RiverTheAxolotl4 күн бұрын
no they can form a bond because they should generally have a positive experience when they see their owner and associate their owner with a good time and be happy when they see them. My father used to have one and it would look at him through the glass, move its gills and generally act pretty happy when it saw him.
@howlingdin93324 күн бұрын
@RiverTheAxolotl Humans are wont to project their own emotions onto their pets and use whatever body movements are available to infer those emotions. But axolotls are unable to identify their owners and form social attachments the way a high-intelligence animal like a cat or dog does. Their brains are too small and smooth. The best they can do is associate certain colors, shapes and sounds with values like food.
