Nice vid. Also quick tip, don't shine the UV light in the axolotl's Eyes Because it can Damage them. You can even see in the video that the second you turned it on and the axolotl was facing you, it Started running away for cover and didn't look back at you until it was gone for good.

Fantastic project! I've raised several dozen axolotls from babies, and really like what you did here, especially with the resting place towards the top of the tank (it's hard to find a good substitute without making your own) and the cave. Some axolotls also really love PVC pipes. The only recommendations I have is making sure that your axolotl doesn't eat sand (yes they will do that, and yes they are stupid), and that he doesn't cut himself on some of those rougher rocks, because again, they will manage to do that, and they are very stupid. Obviously, axolotls heal absurdly quickly, but it's still unfortunate when they cut themselves. Even with their...sub-par levels of intelligence... they are very sweet and I love them. You also have a VERY glowy one, which is really cool!

When I was a young teenager I had a axolotl and completely neglected it for an embarrassingly long time. I’m not sure how he survived, probably random insect landing on the water surface. I eventually found a friend who would take him and he lived the rest of his days another 3 years in a clean tank, fat and happy. To this day 15 years later I still feel so guilty about it. I’m sorry Taco, I hope you forgive me and axolotl heaven is treating you better than I did. I have never dared get another aquatic animal, far too much guilt lol

Some possible tips to fix the tank up more, just to polish it: 1. Maybe add more rocks around the cave? It looked a bit strange, especially the square ahh entrance, so I think adding some more roundish rocks to fill in the gaps on top would be nice. 2. A more secure hammock would be nice, since the one you made was a bit loose. Like, maybe tighten the string or support it with something else, idek

to be totally fair, the glow in the dark trait for your axolotl would require it to glow by itself when in complete darkness. UV lights react differently with hot and cool colors. Reds become neon orange, yellows become almost white, neutral blues become cyan. But overall it is a really cool creature that has been put on this earth.
