Great review. I bought this off the back of your vid as an upgrade to my JRC. The extra room is awesome and despite being brand new it took only a minute or so to erect. As an added bonus it's incredible value for money and just shows you don't need to spend £6/700+ for a good quality large bivvy. Everything you need is already included as it used to be. Anyone considering this I'd say just buy it you won't be disappointed.

@@andrewtate8303 I haven't a clue to be honest but I'd say it's around 15kg. The nice thing is you don't have to take everything. I use my old bivvy for day trips or single nighters and this for anything longer. I still stand by my original comments, for the money it's fantastic value and does what it says on the tin. A great purchase.

Can i use the vapour peak with the overwrap together if I wanted to make it extra dark ?

Curently have a Frontier XD but willing to buy the Axs XL because i have problems with my bivvy, i like the frontier because its so dark inside in the bright sun. Is the AXS also dark inside in the day time and sun?

bought my son the camo 1 man i wanted something slightly bigger saw the xl in my local angling direct picked it up including the vapour cap for around £360 used it once very very pleased with the extra room and just as easy to put up as the standard AXS bivvy im 5ft 7 inch and can just about stand up in it you wont be sorry if you get this version wondering if the camo version will be coming out in the future i didnt know they did a full wrap for it though will have to look out for that one thanks for the review but im sold on it anyway

i currently run the standard axs bivvy and i love it! rarely see anyone else on the bank with it! torn between upgrading to fox frontier or the axs xl! great video as always!

I'd go with the Axs XL, I have tried numerous fox products latest was the ultra 60 brolly system with extension and it was very poorly made, stitching hanging out everywhere, small pin holes everywhere, sent it back and went with the avid hq dual layer. Now seeing this I'm contemplating getting one too

Reason why you don't ser people with them they're trash mate. Since getting mine the front always sagged. Showed sonik customer service pictures of it errected they pointed out my poles were bent. Must have got it like that so didn't notice. They ar t put new poles I'mamazed how easy they bare to bend. And soon as that sun's up wow dosr that bivvy get bright inside the material isn't dark inside at all. And you can see your shadow at night inside the bivvy with your bivvy light on. Wouldn't recommend this bivvy to anyone spend the extra fee quid get something else

@@spoony4312 personally I wouldn't go either, as I said I run the avid hq dual layer, it's complete black out and probably takes 1 minute longer to set up

Does this bivvy still have the same issue as with the original 1-man, trying to put up the bivvy with the front panel left intact ? Unfortunately, i was one of the first to actually use the 1-man model, without the warning issue supplied, and had problems with the 2 front outer poles bending inwards under tension. The warning was made public afew weeks later, that we shouldn´t leave the infill panel mounted, when packing down.

Had mine 2yrs, never had that problem with the front being left on, always slackened the top 2 tension straps and opened the door zips, before packing away.

@@paulhigham6047 That's what I ended up doing, before learning the hard way 😂 Zips up always 👍 I've now moved on from the AXS, but the new version looks interesting, but not the price tag 😤 3 bivvies in my shed, but place for a 4th.😜 If the missus agrees, that is 😘

@deshowes8164 I've had all the Sonik Range, 1 man axs, 2 man axs (maoosive), xtractor bivvy, I've settled on the Armatek Brolly System, only concern is the AXS hub (above the bivvy ) made from plastic and should be metal really, as I've had 2 crack n brake.

Hopefully the poles have been upgraded as I have already replaced 2 just over a year of buying the original. Also hope the stitching is better as my one leak's. The axs is probably the worst purchase In 25 years of fishing. However I have the rods and the bedchair from sonik and they are excellent.

I bought one after Christmas for £299 it is great well worth the cash got the Vapour cap too . I am a big fan of Sonik Gear and this does not disappoint

Love Sonik products but was expecting this to be a little cheaper considering you can pick up a Nash Hide XL for £199, the door for £55.99 and the groundsheet for around £55.99 making the Sonik almost £90 dearer.

@@chrisb5839 this is a lot cheaper than the hide xl the sonik AXS xl comes complete as a bivvy for £299.99 if you search around and the AXS xl is more spacious over the hide xl I’ve owned both

I bought 2man version for 495€ after 5 sessions its broken and its not possible to place it perfect just cheap material is used, now price of new one is 300€ and everybody who bought it trying to sell it now normally i love sonik products but that bivvy was just -500€…

Personally I'm glad they sell this because I don't want a two man and this is tall which will help my back as I had a herniated disc not so long ago. I'm sure there are lots of folks in a similar position
