What a wonderful life I've had as a Canadian musician. Ian Thomas, Gino vannelli, Garelu, Robert Charliebois, and so many others. I have truly been blessed to a known these times and people

I recall hearing this song a few times on a Canadian radio station, that I could get in pretty easy when I lived in Michigan. This has a very Steely Dan kind of feel to it, which I really like.

So I’m just sort of rediscovering the greatness of Ian Thomas. I was too young to really appreciate his music back then. I would have first seen him on SCTV and thought, cool, he’s Dave Thomas’ brother. I was obsessed with Bob and Doug Mackenzie when I was a kid. I mean, Strange Brew was a good movie when you are a teenager. Now I’m obsessed with Ian’s songs.

My husband and I saw him last Saturday night at the Regent Theatre in Oshawa. What a great talent and a wicked sense of humour like his brother Dave. I always thought he was underrated as a Canadian artist. I loved his "Looking back" cassette tape (yes, cassette tape!!) from 1993/94. I would play it over and over again, singing along with himHe had a "hell of a year" (2017) when his 44 year old son became a paraplegic after a ski mobile accident.. Such a humble soul who has shown such gratitude to people and his showbiz friends for coming together to perform charity concerts to raise funds for his son- a husband and a father of four. I am so glad I had the chance to see him in concert. He is definitely a Canadian gem! Thank you so much, Ian for sharing your talents with us!

I remember flying over Nevada with this song in my mind. "On the salt flats of Nevada". ( i saw him at a small bar in Winnipeg in the 80's, then he signed his hits album for me. - Nicest guy!) Thanks for this.

Great song. I saw Ian Thomas live on many occasions...too many to remember. But at one gig at the Rondon Tavern(Rundown?) near Roncesvalles in Toronto, his guitarist had the holy grail of killer guitar tones via a Mesa Boogie amp. My mission in life is to track down that amp so I too can have that sound.
