9:18 ”but they have a red line” I don’t think ”red line” is an expression in English so I thought I’d explain even though this is an old interview. It’s a common Swedish expression and a better translation would probably be ”a red thread” and refers to consistency, that something follows the same theme throughout. You often hear the expression in school when you’re writing a story for example

People get used to a signature and they don't realize that the artist will change and evolve as people and therefore will express itself in their music. They are making music for themselves but commercially, they can also ease people into their permutations. Not all fan bases are open to quick changes but they will also become uninterested after some time if they don't change so it's a challenge. I think it's great if artists experiment and discover new forms to express their art that you would miss out on if they stayed stagnant.

Finally someone realizes and respects what the Chainsmokers are trying to do. love them or hate them The Chainsmokers are doing their own thing that isn't traditional EDM. While I'm a fan of them, yes, some of their songs sound similar but that's what people enjoy and a lot of their songs on their most recent album are different. I will always love Axwell, Seb, Steve. But this new music with The Weekend is trash. Proud they are able to do it, but come on
