Good on Alex for talking about something REAL. Alot of extreme metal just tends to talk about death and darkness or bad thoughts, which I do enjoy and are topics in of themselves. But Alex is truly standing up for what he believes in and is putting it in his music.

If deathcore artists wrote more on bridges like this, I might actually like deathcore. For example, I was actually enjoying Cursed to Die by Lorna Shore but the breakdown completely killed the flow if the song and felt obligatory to me. Slaughter opted for no breakdown and a flowy bridge, which hooked me. Chinga?

There's definitely one breakdown in here, and arguably 2 breakdowns in this song, but they just aren't the "kill a foo" type breakdowns that aim to kill people in the pit.

I feel the same exact way. Breakdowns are cool, but I'm definitely a bigger fan of groovy breakdowns or riff down type things. Mixing in the clean tones with the heavy ones gives a good amount of variety

Chinga! I agree with your thoughts on it being more of a Kostolom. Personally I liked Kostolom a lot. I don't even like Slipknot that much to begin with but I definitely hear the influence in their sound and I think it suits them well. I found their debut record quite boring even though I enjoyed their EP very much due to technicality. The ending bridge gave me SOAD vibes and it was a very welcome change.

First off Ill reccomend darker by design as theyre hella underrated and also quite similar to lorna. Also try make them suffers first two albums, they're some of the first symphonic deathcore out there. Carnifex "die without hope" and "slow death" are also some earlier symphonic deathcore. Otherwise worm shepherds new album and shadow of intents last 3 albums are all great.

I think your worst reacting habit along with so many other reactors is comparing way too often. Slipknots a great band but they are their own category. Slipknots category cant even touch slaughter, and whilst doing these comparisons you missed the most important part of this damn song. 1984. USSR.
