Maestro Orlando Chujandama is the torch bearer of a long and prestigious lineage of Quechua ayahuasqueros. He goes by the moniker “El Dragon De La Selva” translated as “The Dragon of the Jungle”. He was Aubrey Marcus’s very first curandero (plant shaman), and continues to be his most honored maestro to this day. This documentary tells a journey of healing through ayahuasca, explains the essence of this master teacher plant, and also serves as a biopic for one of this planet’s truly living legends.
This Chakaruna Media documentary features Aubrey Marcus, Mehcad Brooks, Vylana Marcus, Maestro Orlando, Blu, and the director of the film Max McCoy. Music is by Graham Dern, and a special thanks to Ben Stewart for some additional footage. If you are interested in working with Maestro Orlando in his home village in Peru, you can contact him here: www.MaestroOrlando.com

Orlando is a scammer and a fraud Fraud alert: Maestro Orlando Chujandama, "the dragon of the jungle" Hi. I just left a "retreat" at Orlando's camp called Mushak Pakarina. This is a stern warning to everyone interested in seeing this man Orlando Chujandama, the dragon of the jungle. I watched Aubrey Marcus film and immediately thought this is the Shaman I want to see. I tracked him down and scheduled 1 week at a cost of $2000. This was expensive but I thought I was in good hands. Boy was I wrong. This man may have once been good but he's now a fake shaman, a charlatan and a fraud. When I arrived at his camp I was taken back by how run down this place was. This place is literally falling apart. Not what you'd expect for a $2000 a week retreat. I chalked it up to an "authentic" experience and got ready for the first ceremony. It was only me there so I thought this was going to be great. He put on his whites and we went into his hut and he blew some smoke around then gave me the Aya. It was watery and tasted and smelled like an old fermented stout. I thought I was in for it. An hour goes by. He whistled one ikaro. Then went outside for a few. I'm laying there waiting for something but nothing comes. He asks if I'm feeling the medicine, I tell him not a thing. He gives me another cup. I wait another 1/2 hour. He whistled the same ikaro. Still nothing. He says ceremony over. So I go to my room that night in the main hut upstairs. Total dump. I lay down. I spit up the potion in a bucket and went to sleep totally sober wondering if I'd been scammed. But I couldnt have because of Aubrey Marcus video, right? Went to sleep and figured tomorrow would be better. When I woke up he says today you go to isolation where you'll be the rest of the week. We walk about a 1/4 mile thru the jungle past a bunch of dilapidated huts with no walls and thatched roof and finally get to the hut at the end where he had a mattress and bug net over the bed and he says this is where you're going to be this whole week. You can go to the bathroom back at the camp and swim in the river he says. He says no food for you and gives me a drink from a small coconut with chiric sonoago. It gave me the chills all day. I was starving. I haven't eaten in 2 days. He has no food to eat. I passed the time and went to sleep. Very hard to do that with a torrential downpour and insects everywhere. I woke up to him bringing me a warm plantain in a cup. This was all I ate for 3 days. This is now becoming a punishment. I decided to push on thru as he was the shaman and knew best. Boy was I wrong. He said there was a ceremony tonight but we are not going to do it in the ceremony hut, instead I'm going to drink the Aya alone at my bed in the jungle. I thought this was rather strange because if I had a bat trip or something I was alone in the jungle. In the afternoon he tells me he's going to town to eat and he will be back. I was waiting for him and he finally shows up at 7. He proceeds to sit down and ask if I want to do the ceremony, then he gets on his Whatsapp and complains that the service is shitty and he can't respond to all the people that want to come for a dieta. He then grabs his coke bottle with the watery sauce in it and we walk out to the tent wearing his boxers. He pours me a cup and I lay down and he leaves. He says he will be sending his energy from his hut, lol. I wait an hour and nothing. Now I'm pissed and hungry AF and over it. I walk back to the hut and he's getting drunk and watching shit on his phone. I tell him I'm leaving in the morning and I'm over it. He says no, have another cup. He then takes another bottle out and pours a full cup of something much thicker, almost like oatmeal. The concentrate. And gives it to me. Now I don't trust him one bit. I took a small sip and walked a 1/4 mile thru the dark jungle with a flashlight. The fact that he was pouring watered down Aya that has zero affect was running me the wrong way and I was in the wrong headspace because I can't trust this man and now he just tried to dose me a hero dose and send me off by my self in the fucking jungle. Anyhow, the amount I drank was fine and I had a delightful time in spite of the fake shaman. Had I drank the full cup, God only knows where I'd be wandering around.. When I got up this morning I packed up and left. I saw him in the village across the river and told him I'm out. He says I had vision last night, isolation is good for you. Lol. This man is a total joke and I've seen him for what he is. The is a fraud that is using his 15 min of fame from Aubrey to take advantage of people looking for a shaman they can trust. This mans idea of ceremony is to pass around watered down aya that he knows will have zero affect on you but still go thru the motions. Then give you the lethal dose when you call him out on it, all the while wearing his underwear and drinking a bottle of red wine. I've been fooled before and perhaps it will happen again, but none of you people need to give your money to this fraud.

This is an amazing mini documentary. I would like to add that the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual preparation before ingesting these plant medicines are so important. When you go to real guides in or out of the jungle, they inform you. If they dont ask you to prepare properly, they are not the real deal. The guides are absolutely essential in this and I wish everyone would know that. Be discerning. Ayahuasca positively changed my whole life. The ego says You are bad, you made mistakes, you did wrong. Love says Everything is part of the journey, you did your best, you were formed by your ancestors but you have the powers to change and end cycles, you can take fully care of your self and you are infinitely Loved. The earth is beauty and love embodied. We are all connected.

I don’t understand why you have to go to the Amazon if the answers lie within. I don’t believe in a guy in a robe w a beard I’m supposed to call my father who sent his son who if true came and went. I guess you have to believe in myth and faith in somebody’s concept of the other world. Th guys addicted to cigarettes you use the word power as charisma I’m trying to take in the difference from just doing recreational drugs. So many deep interpretations. I know people who worship coffee Trying to understand how this works. Grandmother energy? Do you have to get sick to get to the root of emotional pain? Sounds like rebirthing through breathe work.

I was part of a sacred ceremony in Canada once. An ayahuasca shaman group was leading the ceremony. In the ceremony it was important that everybody choose. Either participate in the ceremony from the beginning to the end … or leave the circle. In my culture we understand the importance of beginning to end ceremony commitment - it was no difficulty for me to choose to stand in the circle from beginning to end. No matter how long. It was 9.00pm when we began the ceremony. I knew we were going to conduct ceremony until the dawn. It was how my culture works. Sure enough … many stepped into the circle who were doing so … not prepared. In my culture we have a responsibility to “help” and “support” all participants in the ceremony to stay in the circle to the end. I knew there and then I would be playing my role in that circle. Long story short … time came for the ayahuasca part of the ceremony and all the “enthusiastic” ones were in for the “buzz”. It was only 11.00pm. Everyone who took the ayahuasca thought the ceremony was going to be over by midnight. By 3.00am everyone under the ayahuasca were “in deep”. That’s when some began to fall out of the circle. I helped each stay in and feel “safe”. We made it to 5.00am with everyone still in the circle doing their ceremony guided by ayahuasca. The head Shaman ended his prayer and began to sing. Same happens in my culture. He sang to 8.00am on the dot and the ceremony was over. Everyone was still there together - it was a great ceremony. Someone noted what I had been doing supporting everyone in the circle. They thought I was part of the leading shaman group. I clarified I wasn’t. I clarified I did not take the ayahuasca because I knew my role in the ceremony. She was confused - she thought I had “missed out” somehow and she wanted to ask the head shaman to bless me. I didn’t need a blessing - I had a great ceremony helping in the way of my people who are not an ayahuasca people. It was the head Shamsn who explained to her that my ceremony was the “true” ceremony as I was there holding the sacred space open for everyone else to undergo their ayahuasca experience. It was the head Shaman who explained to the group that some cultures don’t need ayahuasca - and that I had not come to answer an inner quest like them … I had come because I was answering his plea to his ancestors for those who don’t need ayahuasca to come and help him hold the space. In a private moment - and though the head Shaman could not speak each other’s languages - we rode the car back to the main conference leaning on each other sleeping in the back of the van. When we woke I asked his interpreter to ask him if he saw a whale in his dream. He said yes he had seen a whale. I told them I had seen a condor in my dreams flying out of the dawn sun. The whale is my tribal spirit guardian. The condor was his sacred school of shaman priesthood. That was in 2010. He lives in Mexico but he grew up in Colombia as a Kechua. He is a mountain man where no whales exist in his teachings. I live in Aotearoa in the pacific and grew up here. We do not have Condor here. Sometimes I dream of Condor. It’s him visiting me. To this day I have never taken ayahuasca - and have no need for it. I have whales to guide me.

@@1Ma9iN8tive such a beautiful, beautiful, awesome story. I very much enjoyed to read it! ❤️🌿 One question though^^ did you feel it was the shamans spirit animal when you first had the dream? And how did you know to ask him if he dremt of yours? - And one more thing :) I recently heard a shaman say that she would like all the girls which she invites as helping guides for ceremonys to take Aya as well so they are part of the flow of the group and so Aya can guide them to help. And you said when your shaman opened the round he as well asked everybody who didn't want to drink to leave, right? So how come you didn't drank? Did he recognize that one in the circle wasn't "on"? Did he knew and accept your role for this night the moment you knew and accepted it? Greetings from germany ✌️👻 Btw a friend of mine is visiting your beautiful magical island right now. Talked to him today and think it's funny how I didn't knew I gonna be talking to someone who's actually from an Aotearoan tribe on the internet within the next cup of hours. * virtual handshake * nice to meet you dear stranger :)

After a healing I was guided and compelled to start a daily sunrise meditation practice. After a month I could drop into a deep trance easily for up to an hour. 4 months later I had the most incredible Kundalini awakening and the world never looked or felt the same again. My psychic and telepathic abilities were activated and my dream time became intense and filled with prophecies and astral travel. I've never taken any psychedelics or Ayahuasca, I fast regularly and eat extremely clean and move my body in many exercise forms daily. Expanding our consciousness into the unseen realms is possible without substances and I've never felt like it was hard work because I was just following the call of my soul.💜

Ive had a simulair spiritual awakening in 2018 i was eating organic food everyday and meditated alot in the sun and felt so much gratitude and joy and peace love and sereneity for everything and everybody when i walked outside everybody was wearing yellow and all the people smiled at me. I was putting heaven on earth vibrating at a very high vibration i was walking in the park during my awakening and a random guy starded crying and confessing his sins to me like i was god. Then eventually i was meditating and and the police came and ambulance and when i was in the hospital i starded puking out all toxic energies that were present since my family came. Then the people from the hospital starded talking to me in a reversed language that only i understood they was like all channeling angels. Then they put me in a clinic and i starded healing this woman and she starded crying full of tears of gratitude just like me. Then she cried and told me she was in war with the devil. And she god a psychic vision of a bad person walking towards us in the clinic. And so we pretended we was sporting. But because i was full of ectasy i was jumping and free. And the guy looked at me weird and was like UEGEUEG and put his finger in my butt and laughed really demonic. Then he locked me in a isolation cell and they injected me with medication and i was crying and screaming. Then they put me in a different department gone from the psychic woman and this othe patient walks in with syncornicities and starded doing a blood bond ritual on me and he said "im the devil" ect and was cursing me. Then i went to my room and grabbed a tarot card and it said "arch angel michael" so i prayed to him and meditated and the next day he came as a patient and i asked him what is your name and he was like "michael" and i was like "WTF i prayed to you yesterday" and he said "yup you found me" so then i was in the clinic with the devil some angels and the devil. Michael taught me alot of cool spiritual stuff and shower me the rainbow bridge in the astral realm where we was flying together. Alot of cool stuff and bad stuff happened. What i can say for me is. Getting enlightenee is the most traumatic and amazing experience. But yeah once you grow wings and enter the astral realm in the physical world for me alot of bsd entities and the devil and the system reicarnation cycle will try to stop you. Tbh i hate this spiritual warfare and how demons treated me and ruined my life years after i had astral travels going to higher dimensikns flying meeting angels nad havinf syncroncities of strong manifestations where i didnt need money but nothing but faith and being present. But all these lower entities removed my wings. And my healing powers and gone and now ive had dreams about being raped. Sometimes i talk with god or cry and just look at how unfair the world is and how dark it is. You can reach the the top of the pedestal and be in the highest light and still get destroyed. Fucking stupid ass low vibrational world i hate it. I will never forget feeling so much gratitude and love i hope ill achieve it again

This is one of the best documentaries I've seen on ayahuasca and psychedelics in general. It doesn't feel like it's only focused on informing you about the compounds, nor is it trying to heavyhandedly convince you of their efficacy. Instead, it just presents the experience from those on all sides of the equation and lets you decide. Feels more like a mythos than a documentary. Excellent work from the whole team.

I just went to Maestro Orlando at his center Mushuk Pakarina in Tarapoto, Perú. He is as strong and gentle, joyful a spirit as this docu represents. He needs funds to build out his center (from seeing that it's very basic and simple), yet he is incredibly grounded and humble and doesn't ask for anything more. He's a blessing, I was blessed to be under his guidance, protection, energy, love & care. I cried when I realized it was time to leave, as I felt so safe and secure and seen in his presence. He certainly is not a western professional, in the sense that every moment has a structure and he's running a business. He's a simple man, goes with the flow of what's needed in the moment, and offers as much as you are ready for. Being in isolation after the ceremony is a great benefit to the integration process. I found him to be in integrity with his words. He never promised something which he didn’t deliver upon and I never felt unsafe (I was traveling as solo female, did the ceremony alone). I met his family, his wife & kids. Everyone had a spirit that was in alignment with my Higher Self. Blessings.

I know I will watch this again to take from it what I can. The need to heal ones self is natural and necessary! We can't efficiently heal outside of ourselves until we heal inside of ourselves. That doesn't mean we can't begin healing others and mother earth but we can't be as affective with issues within ourselves yet to be healed. We don't need to see the full staircase before we take the first step. Blessings to all who read this and those you share it with!

The insights & wisdom they’ve shared has impacted my life hugely and enabled me to live in so much more acceptance and love for myself and people around me. As I’m sure they’ve positively impacted many others. Also just because someone is spiritual doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t live comfortably. Just saying 🤷🏻‍♀️

I LOVED THIS! Ayahuasca saved me from myself and my guilt for "allowing" my baby sister to overdose and die on my stash of drugs she snuck into. After losing both my parents by the age of 23, losing my sister in the manner I did absolutely threw me over the edge. Ayahuasca helped me navigate all the pain I'd been avoiding with opiate dependency for over 12 years and freed me from them and so much more. I learned that it was not my sister who I needed forgiveness from, but rather myself I needed to forgive and show love for. Over three days, I saw many beautiful ppl transform from hurting strangers to a family of soldiers, who all brought their own personal battles for the family to help address and fight together. Ayahuasca gave me back my life and I plan to continue usng it as a tool to transform. I will use it to help me transition to a more fulfilled and beautiful version of my current self. 🤍

In my late teens & 20s my friends and I would do shrooms, Isd, and ecstasy occasionally. Good times! All were positive, fun, spiritual experiences. But, it's been decades. I don't know anyone who knows anyone who can get psychedelics from. I live in LA & there's a Kush store three blocks from my house, but I can't function alone on weed. I wish they sold psilocybin gummies. I'm a little depressed & a little anxious on a regular basis. I'm not a big drinker and I hate taking pills. A bite or two of a chocolate bar, or a cup of mushroom tea everyday would be a godsent for me.

It is so conversational yet deep and spiritual and the richness of description of what the experience can be, how it behaves, who the spirit of Ayuahuasa is and how she simply wants to without preudice. lovingly help you work through your built up world limitations to not just find YOU but to also understand the truth about what this world is about and what our purpose is in it. A beautiful reminder to all how connected we are to all of nature. We are from the same Higher Source. We are One. I have been going within for 27 years and still discovering more. My spiritual experience on this inward journey in 2002 brought me to another realm of pure divine light and unconditional love. Time does not exist and love was revealed to me in its utmost purest form. I experience this energy everyday in many ways through that energy of connection to a Higher Power.
