Geez I was saved. I went to order the lowest tier and it was sold out. Checked a few days later and they had it in stock but at the next tier price. So I held off but was still undecided. Then yesterday Retro Game Corps posted a vid about the cheaper plastic used on the lower models then the top one. Now today I stumbled on this vid. I’m good. No but for me and a sub for you.

@ The difference between "made in China" and designed by a Chinese brand is that the former will have better engineering, quality control and originality. Foreign companies will ensure that quality will be upheld while manufacturing takes place in China. This is assuming we are talking about a reputable brand, of course there are bad ones all over the world. If you're old enough, you'll remember that Chinese companies were largely known for poorly constructed knock offs. They still make that stuff, but some Chinese companies have started to catch up with the famous international brands in terms of quality and ingenuity. It would still be better to stay away, because buying from them means your money is going to make an oppressive regime with imperialist ambitions more powerful. The CCP has close ties to Chinese corporations.

@protocetid I'm definitely old enough. Appreciate the time it took to write all that. Either way the item that sparked this comes from a company with generally amazing qc. I'm not to worried about who ends up with the money I spend considering one way or another it will go somewhere I wouldn't want it go. Also I make shit money and whatever they get from me hardly matters. It wouldn't even be pocket change.

They got quiet after I first contacted them, I hope the number of people sending them my vid and saying they will cancel their orders helped. They definitely watched the vid themselves.

That’s the issue I have with AyaNeo stuff. Not enough people buy them to see troubleshooting steps about stuff like this. If it were the Miyoo Mini +, Odin 2, Retroid Pocket etc you would have seen Reddit posts of people with the same or similar problem and what they did to solve. Getting the Pocket Air that pretty much no one bought and was their first Android was definitely rough.

@MithosDagon That's a good point. All of my other handhelds have info about fixes all over. Ayaneo is limited and like you said probably not enough people have them. Ayn has always been top of my list as a favorite. I have had no trouble with them.

The Trimui Brick, it's where my budget sits right now, and I am more likely to use these devices as a MP3/MP4 player. But it's hella brave to spend that much money, and if one more subsciption helps turn the head of Ayaneo, then dope af. Not all company's are that cynical though. The internet can be very unforgiving and company's are aware of this. Although I don't like Retro Games Corp, he seems like a decent chap, add Retrobreeze and Techdweeb, you have potential clout to reach to. RGC in particular maybe insensed as he's quite passionate. Don't let this one go, the Brick is a 10th of the price of the Ayanoonoo, but it's still one's personal possesion and future proof is what we seek, therefor it's what we must have, all in good time. This came up in my feed for some reason, I just watched a dissasembly video as well - it may be that its just the sd card thats died so may be salvagable while even if Ayeneo dont come to the table.

@DARTHSKATER7 I do like it and currently it's on the way back to Ayaneo to be repaired or replaced. A few days ago I would have said maybe I was just unlucky. But even today I came across a bunch more people having overheating issues with the DMG and EVO. So buyer beware lol

@DARTHSKATER7 No problem. Definitely look into it. Finding out both the DMG and the EVO have the same problem was a shock. Ayaneo Definitely slipped up on these. They got careless and QC went out the window.

Ayaneo did respond to these issues and they said any future devices will not have this problem since they now fixed it and if you have one with the problem they will send you a repair kit or let you send it to them for repair. So if you wanna roll the dice on it lol

Heat is always a problem with ayaneo devices, the problem sounds like you need to replace the thermal paste or thermal pads on the cpu.

im having overheating issue on the top part when im charging with my 45w charger (exactly where you pointed) , the screen gets boiling hot even when its completely turned off . i have not yet contacted ayaneo about this because i have 20w charger and its charging with no issues . i know two ppl on discord that have the same issues , so maybe this problem is more common then we think.

@nzxtsnue1139 wow, yeah that's what mine did but it died immediately after. Watch this problem start showing up on most of the DMGs sold. Be careful with it and I would contact support and make them aware of your problem. Kind of get it on record that you pointed it out to them, so if it dies you can get it replaced.

@@TheRetroLegionOfficial might be the power controller chip , because on specs its says that it only capable to charge up to 25w , and if this chip is not working properly then it allowed us to charge beyond of what it capable to handle, and so something got fried in your device .

i ordered the retro colour in November and still waiting for it to be sent, so I have my doubts on a quick turnaround for your fix. This would scare me a bit, but i've got the 2S and it runs well despite early heat problems as well.

@clyde2801 50/50 on that. Mine could just be a fluke. I would say if you wanna roll the dice, sure go for it. I have other Ayaneo devices and they are great. If you saved money for a device and can get 1 handheld and can't afford another for some time, then no.

@shaunandrews6313 Agreed. For the price the quality control should be better. Ayaneo has released plenty of devices at this point, so these problems shouldn't exist. I would understand if I didn't know what I was doing or I mistreated the device, but I know what I'm doing and I take care of my handhelds. I also made sure I read the manual soon as I got it for things like recommended chargers and basic care.
